Calming My Skin with Farmhouse Fresh Organics Will Dew Probiotics Balancing Mask

Earlier in the season – late spring and early summer – my gardens looked great.

Beautiful color, nice structure, everything in more or less the right place. Since I have mostly perennials and flowering shrubs in my gardens, plants bloom for a couple of weeks and then they’re done for the season. Take a look at some of the highlights from the past few months.

What looked beautiful and composed, now looks a mess.

I spent the past two days working in my garden. I cut down the spent orange day lilies so the green leaves will grow back in a few weeks and look fresh and neater. Then I moved to my backyard where the perennial gardens really look a fright. I spent more than 3 hours trying to establish some kind of order. Yuck. Did I mention that it was 86 degrees and humid while I did all this?

After I did as much as I could and went into the house for dinner, my face and neck were literally covered with dirt. So much so that my skin actually hurt.

Farmhouse Fresh Organics Will Dew Probiotic Milk Balancing Mask

When my skin is sore like that, I reach for Farmhouse Fresh masks. I find them to be a treat for the senses: they smell fabulous and they feel wonderful. Plus they’re made with the best ingredients. In fact, they have a relatively new Organics line that is certified to the NSF/ANSI 305 standard, and the products are free of GMOs, synthetic herbicides and pesticides, parabens and sulfates.

Lately, I’ve been using a new Farmhouse Fresh mask from their new Organics line: Will Dew Probiotic Milk Balancing Mask.

FHF Will Dew Probiotic Milk Balancing Mask is a soothing and nourishing face mask that contains healthy prebiotic and probiotic bacteria. I have digestive issues, and I have become a big believer in both pre- and probiotics though I can never remember what the difference is. Recently, bacteria that helps the digestive tract operate better has been shown to be good for our largest organ, our skin.

FHF CEO Shannon McLinden says, “Will Dew™ has healthy bacteria to help maintain skin’s natural microflora, which contributes to moisturization, a dewy soft finish and glowing complexions. Healthy bacteria are also great for acne-prone skin and those who are sensitive, as it calms skin irritations.”

Will Dew Mask is made with coconut milk, certified organic rice extract, certified organic aloe vera leaf juice, sweet almond oil, certified organic coconut oil, and lactobacillus. It sounds almost good enough to eat or at least cook with 😉 It also has an all-natural fragrance that smells to me like a combination of fresh milk and baby powder.

The mask:

  • calms irritation in normal, sensitive and acne-prone skin
  • balances the skin’s bacteria
  • seals in moisture.

Before using the mask, I did a very thorough cleansing since both days this week that I’ve used the mask my face was really, really dirty. I gently dried my face and then applied the mask, scooping some out of the jar with a lovely wooden spoon that Farmhouse Fresh included with their fabulous Sweet Cream Body Scrub (reviewed here). After I applied the mask, my skin instantly felt soothed. For me, the mask with its pudding-like consistency, is very gentle. Nevertheless, I want to mention that my sister blogger, Erika from Notes From My Dressing Table, reported that she felt a little bit of not unpleasant tingling when she has used it. I have discovered that my skin, that I always thought was sensitive, really isn’t. My dry skin felt nothing but soothed and nourished.

I left the milky mask on my face for about 10-15 minutes during which time it dried a bit though not completely. Then I removed the mask with lukewarm water. My face felt fresh, soft, calmed, and no longer irritated. This is a mask that I can use as often as I like just to make my skin feel better and, like FHF says, “more balanced”.

FHF Will Dew Probiotic Milk Balancing Mask was developed for all skin types. In fact, it’s recommended for those with blemishes, acne or sensitive skin. The mask comes in a glass jar (the kind that I use when I make jam!) inside a decorative box. The jar contains 3.2 oz. and is priced at $30.00. Like all Farmhouse Fresh products, Will Dew Mask would make a great gift as well as a treat for yourself.

As I’ve mentioned previously, award-winning Farmhouse Fresh is sold on its website as well as at fine spas, resorts, hotels such as the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Waldorf Astoria, Marriott, and Hyatt among others as well as at fine retailers in the U.S., Canada and Dubai.

Does this new mask from Farmhouse Fresh Organics sound like something you’d enjoy?

  11. Your garden looks amazing! I actually like a bit of the wild-growth look rather than the trimmed-and-manicured effect – which is probably why my Dad won’t let me within a mile of his garden!

    1. Thank you, Renu! My gardens are basically cottage gardens and they’re never precise. But since so many of the flowers have gone by but the greenery continues to grow, it has that overgrown look about it. Oh well Still much lovelier than snow!

  12. Wow, your garden is gorgeous! I want to plant one at my new house but haven’t figured out the right place yet so It will have to wait until next year. As for the mask, my skin doesn’t usually get too irritated so this doesn’t seem like quite the right product for me but I love your review.

  14. Ditto, we have the same orange lilies in our garden then another darker one also and a March lillie which a lovely pink one. I love to take photo of the flowers in our garden, it’s another hobby of mine.

Anyway, i love how wonderful a mask feels on my face, just that i dont always make the time to have a pamper session. I’m unfamiliar with this brand, but it’s good that you have the one that you absolutely like! especially after a hard days work in the garden, your face would love you for that!

    1. Don’t you just love lilies? I have about 50 different hybrid varieties, but I just love the way the common orange daylilies look against my stone wall when they’re all in bloom. Now, most of my lilies have finished for the season. Sad to have to wait a year till they come back again. Enjoy your approaching spring!
