Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow, Rose Gold & Giveaway Winner Announcement

Time really got away from me this weekend. We had a Nor’easter on Saturday. It was a good day to stay in the house. Jeff and I played Monopoly (I won because I own a ton of property including some monopolies, and Jeff resigned after he said he could see which way the game was going, lol.) Then we watched the movie “Mank” on Netflix.

On Sunday morning, I saw that we didn’t get much snow. Instead, we got sleet that turned to ice. Next time I buy a house, I will make sure that the front doesn’t face north. While a north-facing house prolongs the paint job, it is tough when it snows or turns icy. My 75 foot walkway, stairs and driveway never melt on their own. Jeff and I spent a couple of hours in the afternoon “shoveling” or more accurately trying to break up the ice. By the time, we finished watching the Patriots, eating dinner and cleaning up, it’s 9:45pm. So instead of the post I had planned to write, I’m posting about the new shade of Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow that I recently bought.

I wrote about the shade Star Gold that I consider to be a copper shade a while ago (here).

When Sephora had its VIB sale in November, I decided I wanted to buy another shade. What I was after was a silver or even gunmetal. I would have settled for bronze. But Charlotte Tilbury specializes, I would say, in all things rose gold or variations on the rose and gold shades. Not silver, not gunmetal, not bronze, not ever.

But on the positive side, her cream shadows are true shimmer shadows, no glitter in sight. The shades have a “lit from within” glow that I would say is flattering to all ages.

Because I love the creamy, easy to apply, creaseless formula, I chose from the 6 shades available at Sephora, and not a cool-toned silver in sight. Perhaps I should have gone with Chocolate-Bronze because it was the most different from the other 5 shades that may be considered variations on a rose gold/gold theme, but as a sucker for pink, I went with Rose Gold.

I figured if anyone could do rose gold, it would be Charlotte Tilbury.

If you are a fan of cream shadows, you must try Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize. The creamy shadow applies oh-so-easily with a fingertip or with a brush. I wear it over primer, but I wear all eyeshadow over eye primer not only to extend the wear, boost the color, but also to hide my red-purple eyelids. This silky shadow wears well with no creasing till I remove it.

Charlotte Tilbury calls her shade Rose Gold is “light pink”, but I think it’s rose gold like the CT packaging.

I think CT Rose Gold is a perfect every day shade in these days of no-makeup makeup or no makeup at all. It’s a subtle shade. If you are looking for strong pigmentation that really makes its presence known, this one isn’t it, but I like it anyway. I often wear it as a sole shade across my lids since it’s the perfect one-and-done shadow. Sometimes I will add an accent shade in my crease and outer V. And rather than stick with gold or brown, I will pair it with grey.

I really love this cream formula. Again, I wish there was more real variability in the shades available. Although I would love to own more of these, I think I am at my limit shade-wise, unless CT expands the range more dramatically in the future.

Here are swatches of the two shades I own:

If you are looking for a small gift (especially if you are shopping the Sephora sale now) or a (somewhat pricey) stocking stuffer for a cream eyeshadow lover, take a look at Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Eyeshadow selection on Sephora. Though CT has just introduced two “new” shades on her website: Copper Sunrise and Sunset Rose, they seem to me to be more of the same: gold/copper and rose gold.

Finally, congratulations to Monique S., the lucky winner of Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle EDP in the sparkly holiday packaging! Woo hoo!

Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway by commenting, subscribing, tweeting, and following me on social media. I really appreciate it. I have more giveaways coming soon. I just have to write them up, so stay tuned!

  1. This is a gorgeous shade, and so perfect for you! As many things that I own from CT, I still have not picked up any of these beautiful cream eye shadows!

    1. The CT cream eyeshadows are a cream shadow lovers dream, but I hear her pressed shadows are lovely too and I’ll bet you own some of those!

  2. If I didn’t have this already then I’d buy it for sure. The Charlotte Tilbury creams are my favorites. This is such a beautiful color. I don’t think I own Star Gold so I need to check. CT changed the names so I might own it under a different name.

    1. I think I like Star Gold even better than Rose Gold. It is kind of weird that CT changed the names of the shades, and that she keeps coming out with basically the same few shades over and over again, lol. But IMHO, the formula is among the absolute best cream shadows

    Congratulations to Monique S!!!!

  4. Oh my, what a beauty! I’ve never tried eyeshadow pots from CT but I feel like I should. I’m already a big fan of her lipsticks and powder products!
