City Beauty InvisiCrepe Body Balm: Is It the Game Changer I Hoped For?

You know that I am a fan of City Beauty skincare products. I have tried a lot of their products over the years. Some really suit me (I’m looking at you City Lips, Multi Action Sculpting Cream and UpLift Firming Serum, just to name a few off the top of my head. So when I have a chance to try more products from City Beauty, I’m always game.

Over the past couple of years, I have noticed the skin on my arms and legs isn’t as firm and supple as it used to be. I haven’t been lifting weights, and it shows. But in addition to the muscle not being as firm, the skin isn’t either. It often looks scaly and loose. Ugh. Jeff has asked me about relieving dry, scaly skin that he sometimes gets on his legs, and I told him that he needed to use body lotion. When he mentioned that he still had dry crepey skin again several weeks later, I told him he had to use body lotion all the time in order for it to make a difference, not just once or twice. Putting my money where my mouth is, lol, I use body lotion or body butter or body oil on the regular.

So I was excited when I was given the opportunity to try City Beauty InvisiCrepe Body Balm. I am writing this review after I used up the entire jar over the course of about a month or so this summer.

Here’s what City Beauty has to say about InvisiCrepe Body Balm:

“InvisiCrepe Body Balm reduces the appearance of thin, wrinkled, crepey skin by supporting the skin’s barrier function, boosting hydration, and supporting the skin’s protein structures for a smoother, firmer, and more supple look.”

City Beauty also says that InvisiCrepe Body Balm “gradually erases crepey, uneven skin”.

The product is recommended for mature, crepey, dry, thinning, or sagging skin. It’s good for all skin types including sensitive skin. The website also says it’s good for wrinkles and fine lines, but I only used it on my body and I don’t have wrinkles or fine lines there. It also suggests using it on the neck, chest, arms, or legs. It says to apply about a quarter size amount to each area, massaging it into the skin with a circular motion till it is absorbed.

The fluffy white cream is a medium weight cream, I think it had no scent, and it’s cruelty-free. Also, it has no mineral oil, parabens or sulfates. It absorbed quickly and easily.

Upon application, it definitely improved the appearance of my skin. It looked plumper, hydrated and not crepey or thin. It also felt hydrated and supple rather than tight or dry.

However, I can’t say that the crepiness that I sometimes see in my upper arms and sometimes my calves went away in between usage occasions. As long as I used InvisiCrepe Body Balm at least twice a day, it did work, but to be honest, I can’t say that it worked any better than a less expensive, rich body balm. Maybe it would help a younger person stave off crepey, thin skin.

City Beauty InvisiCrepe Body Balm is pricey. The regular price is $60 for 5 fl. oz./147 ml. The jar lasted a little more than a month for me, with regular use. Though I always shop City Beauty during sales, this product did not work well enough in reversing my crepey skin to justify repurchasing it. There are lots of City Beauty products that I buy over and over again, but this one did not work well enough for me to buy it on a regular basis. You may have different results than I. BTW, City Beauty has a 60 day money back guarantee.

  1. Morning Allison 🙋🏻‍♀️ I have spent so much money on body creams yes they work for about a day and that’s all. I always go back to Amlactin it works! My 70 Year old skin soaks it up. But like most body creams….. to keep your skin looking moisturized you have to apply everyday. Hope all is well with you! 😷🥰💐

I have never heard of Amlactin but I am going to check it out.

      1. Sandy, it is sold at Costco and most likely at Walmart, CVS etc. I know that DiEtta has been using it for years with good results. Although I tried a sample from Costco, I haven’t purchased it because it contains mineral oil and parabens, a couple of ingredients that I try to avoid.

          Thanks Allison

    2. I’m glad you agree, DiEtta, that everyday use of a good body cream is the key to soft supple skin. I know that you’ve been using Amlactin with great results for a long time. And I think of you whenever I see it being sampled at Costco! All’s well here. Hope you can stay indoors and not breathe the air outside. Scary stuff in the west these days, so sad.

  2. Thanks for the honest review. I’m always on the lookout for a true body-firming cream but have yet to find anything that gives spectacular results!

    1. I really love City Beauty skincare, but some products work better for me than others. So I figured I should let people know what works for me, though others may have different results. I don’t know if a crepiness-reducing cream truly exists! I have to start pushing myself to lift weights again. Honestly, I think that helped the most along with using a rich body cream every day, sometimes twice a day. However, the concept of strengthening the skin barrier makes sense to me. I need to find out which ingredient(s) exactly are supposed to do that!

  3. Thank you for the honest and thorough review!

  4. Thank you for such a great, and honest, review. It does sound like a nice cream, though.

    1. The cream itself was very nice. I didn’t apply it twice a day, every day, and I do value the strengthening of the skin barrier. But it just wasn’t right for me.

  5. I’m not good about using items twice a day especially on my body. And now with a dog who believes it’s his duty to lick me from head to toe it’s even harder to do so. I would like to see how this did on my chest though since that’s more crinkly than it used to be.

    1. The twice a day thing was tough for me, too. Not sure that I applied it twice every single day.

  6. I’m with Marcia – my chest would be the perfect place for me to use this. As I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed more “smile lines”….lol, what are they called on your chest? LOL. Great review!

    1. wrinkles??? lol I can’t imagine that you have any, Kristi!!

I don’t have crepey skin yet but I’m all about great moisturization any given day!!! This sounds like a really good product

  8. Very much appreciate the honest review! Thank you.

    1. You’re welcome, Terry! What I have been doing lately is dry brushing and using Aveeno in a big jar with ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier. So far so good
