City Beauty Sale & End of Year Project Pan Update

I did it again. My entire post deleted by accident. What’s up with this stupid wordpress editor? Why is there no way to get to my saved draft? Anyone know???

Anyway, here goes again.

I Bought This, PR Sample, Affiliate Links

City Beauty InvisiCrepe Body Balm New Year’s Sale

City Beauty is having one of their quick 3 day sales on their rich, nourishing, white, fragrance-free, CF InvisiCrepe Body Balm. It makes an instant difference on my super dry skin. The sale goes from today, December 30 through New Year’s Day, January 1, 2021.

Here’s how City Beauty describes it:

InvisiCrepe Body Balm reduces the appearance of thin, wrinkled, crepey skin by supporting the skin’s barrier function, boosting hydration, and supporting the skin’s protein structures for a smoother, firmer, and more supple look.

City Beauty also says that InvisiCrepe Body Balm “gradually erases crepey, uneven skin”.

At $60, InvisiCrepe Body Balm is pricey, one of those products where I definitely wait for a sale. As usual, City Beauty gives a bigger discount the more jars you purchase:

1 Jar =  $39
2 Jars = $69
3 Jars = $89

No special code is necessary. Just click this link and you should be all set. Free shipping.

End of 2020 Project Pan Update

So the question is: Did I achieve my Project Pan goal for 2020? I’m sure the suspense is killing you, lol.

I ended November with 119 empties. Just 11 more to reach my goal of 130 empties.

Here’s what I used up in December:

Skincare Empties

It was a good month for using up skincare products. Actually, just about every month is. I use so many skincare products that it isn’t all that difficult.

StriVectin S.T.A.R. Light Retinol Night Oil: StriVectin’s Retinol Night Oil is expensive, but I bought it two years ago at this time of year when StriVectin had their 30% off sale so it was within reach. I love this oil. It is my favorite way to do retinol. I use it just about every night. Repurchase? Yes, I did during this year’s 30% off sale. I strongly recommend it if you’re a fan of retinol and face oil.

DefenAge 8-in-1 BioSerum: DefenAge, a luxury brand that doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves, is a research-based skincare brand that uses Defensins, a patent-pending skin-rebuilding molecule, in their formulas.

Their anti-aging skincare products are wonderful. DefenAge 8-in-1 BioSerum is supposed to take the place of a number of anti-aging serums, and it is certainly terrific. It is positioned as an accompaniment to skincare products from other brands because no other products contains Defensins, and it functions as a complimentary serum. Here are its benefits:

  • Rejuvenates smoothness. Improves overall visible skin health and quality.
  • Minimizes the look of fine lines, wrinkles, pores, and skin pigmentation and discolorations.
  • Promotes radiance and revives the skin’s natural moisture for an ultimate glow.
  • Brightens the overall skin tone and clarity and enhances skin luminosity.
  • Renews the feeling of skin firmness, elasticity, and texture.
  • Helps improve the appearance of skin redness.
  • Promotes the skin barrier and immunity from environmental stressors.

It’s also unusual in that you apply it after applying DefenAge’s 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream which is their moisturizer. Interesting. Repurchase? I would love to buy a bottle but at somewhere between $165-$220 for a bottle, it is out of my price range. Waaaaah.

Derma E Skin Destress Calming CBD Cleanser: I received this ultra-gentle, skin calming cleanser back in August, and I haven’t used anything else since. It’s such a great hydrating cleanser for dry skin (though it is good for all skin types). I love it! Repurchase? I will, but I have to use 3 other cleansers that have been patiently waiting in the wings for me to finish Derma E Skin Destress Calming CBD Cleanser. It is one of my favorite products of 2020.

PCA Skin Ideal Complex Revitalizing Eye Gel: I rediscovered my former favorite eye gel this fall, and I’m both glad I did and sad that I did. Upon starting to use it again, I now remember why I loved it so much. This stuff works so well as a firming eye gel. I haven’t found one better. But it is expensive at $90 for a 0.5 oz. tube. Repurchase? I did. I bought 2 tubes at 30% off. I hope they last me a while!

Theraderm Clinical Skincare Fruit Acid Exfoliant: I discovered the dermatologist-created brand, Theraderm, this year, and I love it. Theraderm Fruit Acid Exfoliant is the second step after cleansing in their 3 step regimen. You use the exfoliant along with the two sided raised cotton pads that I adore. Trouble is I dislike the natural scent from the ingredients in the Fruit Acid Exfoliant. Repurchase? No because of the scent.

Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum: I discovered this travel size Kiehl’s eye serum in one of my makeup bags. It is a terrific lightweight lotion eye serum that I used in addition to other eye gels or creams. It helped with additional firming, anti-wrinkle defense, and lightening dark under eye shadows. It’s a really good eye serum. Repurchase? Not now because I have another eye serum I am testing, but I may. They have the 0.5 fl. oz. size that’s $43.50 at SpaceNK

Airelle Age-Defying with Hyaluronic Acid Eye & Lip Treatment: Again, I forgot I had this eye and lip serum that it applied with a cooling metal roller ball. It is refreshing and firming. One dislike, however, is that it comes in a glass tube. It rolled off my vanity on to my ceramic tile bathroom floor, and a chunk of the glass bottom broke off. Plastic, please! Repurchase? I am trying out another eye serum, but it is on sale for 40% off on Dermstore.com now.

Bath & Body Empties

Crystal Mineral Enriched Deodorant, Freshly Minted: Crystal has been my favorite natural and no aluminum deodorant for several years now. This particular version of Invisible Solid in the scent, Freshly Minted, was my favorite from all the Crystal deodorants I’ve tried. Also, it lasted 2 years! Repurchase? I am using another Crystal Mineral Enriched Deodorant scent, Mountain Fresh.

Ida Verbena Citrus Body Lotion: Not long ago, I wrote about the Ida Dry Brush set. In addition to the dry brush itself, the Ida Verbena Citrus Body Lotion has become one of my favorites. It’s a thick and rich body butter with a light verbena citrus scent. Repurchase? In spite of the fact that I just received two bottles of another brand, I am truly considering it. I love the Ida Body Lotion for my winter dry skin!

Makeup Empties

butterLONDON Lip Crayon, shade Teddy Boy: In spite of the fact that the tip of this rich lip crayon sometimes breaks off, I adore this lip crayon from butterLONDON. It is so incredibly hydrating, but my hair doesn’t stick to it. As it fades over time, color remains on my lips. It has a built-in sharpener. It’s great! But the line has been discontinued. 🙁 Repurchase? I could swear that I bought another one quite a while back, but I can’t find it. So maybe this one that I finished is the one I bought? At any rate, I just tracked down one tube on eBay and I bought it.

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter, travel size: BECCA Backlight Priming Filter is exceedingly heavy, and it seems appropriate for cold weather like we’re having now. The “glow” that it gives is so shiny that it looks greasy. To be honest, I didn’t like this primer, but I used it up anyway. Repurchase? No.

Did I Make My 2020 Goal?

Yes, I did! My 11 December empties added to the 119 empties from January through November equals 130 empties during 2020. I hit my goal right on the head. Whew.

I will keep next year’s goal at 130 to see if I can reach it again.

Tosses

I am sad to toss this cute little jar of MyChelle Lip Hints Conditioning Lip Balm in the shade Sheer. Unfortunately, it has spearmint oil in the formula, and that’s a no-no for my lips. I wish I had realized it had mint in it because I would have given it away to someone who would have enjoyed it. My bad for not reading the ingredients. Here it is in the Berry shade/scent.

So that’s it for me! What did you use up in December?
