City Beauty is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their flagship product, City Lips!
My City Lips Journey
When I first started Never Say Die Beauty, my friend Nancy asked me if I had ever tried City Lips. She had seen the plumping lipgloss on a segment of one of the morning TV shows. I had never heard of it, but I was interested in a miracle lip product that claimed to hydrate lips while making them look fuller. I was especially interested because it claimed to make lips look fuller without the irritating peppermint or cinnamon oil that most other lip plumper used at the time. So because they had and still have a money back guarantee, I took a chance, and I bought myself a couple of tubes: City Lips Clear and Sun Diego, and I think also, Pink Nude. Here’s the link to my first City Lips review. Little did I know at the time that it would lead to me getting hooked on City Lips!
As I have many a time mentioned, I have had good results from City Lips. The hyaluronic acid and the oligopeptides in the formula keep my lips looking plumped and feeling soft, hydrated and comfortable. Not surprisingly, City Lips Clear is a staple in my beauty stash. And I stock up when City Beauty has a good sale on the product.
The BOGO Sale
I get especially excited when City Beauty has a BOGO/2 for 1 sale on City Lips, and that’s exactly what they’re doing now in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of City Lips. The sale is for both regular glossy City Lips and City Lips Matte. Here are the shades that are in stock for both formulas.
- City Lips Glossy: Clear, Tinsel Town, Tokyo Kiss, Sun Diego, Nude, Spice, Dusty Rose, Crimson
- City Lips Matte: Blush Rose, Pink Taupe, Rosy Mauve
I go through a tube of City Lips Clear about every 6 weeks. I use it twice a day: morning and night. I use it under regular lipsticks that are highly pigmented and somewhat drying, and it helps a lot.
Although they have a number of sheer and translucent glossy shades (like Sun Diego), you know I am a fan of opaque glosses that I wear on their own to give my lips shiny color. I have two favorites. The first is called Crimson. I don’t consider it to be a true crimson but it’s what I call “peachy raisin”. City Beauty describes it as “cool-toned deep rose”.
My other favorite is the va-va-va-voom shade Red Velvet, a true red that sadly isn’t listed among the current shades.
Among City Lips’ Matte Shades, my favorites without a doubt are Pink Taupe and Rosy Mauve (reviewed here). I don’t often wear liquid matte lipsticks because they tend to be too drying, but these pretty shades make the grade for me!
How To Shop The Sale
In order to take advantage of the 2 for 1 sale, you have to add two tubes to your cart and then add the code CLBDAY. As always, I definitely appreciate it if you click on my affiliate links above to make your purchase, thank you, thank you! During March, the anniversary month, City Beauty will be having a number of sales, but this BOGO is the best deal for City Lips. Remember, this sale ends on Wednesday 🙂
What a great sale, and I absolutely LOVE the colors of the two shades that you swatched, Allison!

Thank you, and yes it is a terrific sale. I have to place my order either later or tomorrow coz I’m down to only one in my stash!
I like the clear best since it enhances whatever lip color I feel like wearing.
