A couple of months ago, I introduced you to my Highlighting Blush Palette of the year from Mally Beauty (see review here). Truly a stunner. Sadly, it appears to have been a limited edition because I can’t find it anywhere now.

Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liners

Since then, I have gotten to try another new-to-me Mally product, the Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liners. Oh my, they are so creamy and easy to apply especially perfect for tightlining or applying to the waterline. In fact, Mally liners have now overtaken my other all-time favorite, MUFE Aqua XL Liner, and for me, that’s saying something! On my skin, the liners last until I remove them, while on the waterline, they last for quite a few hours before fading on my watery eyes that I constantly have to put drops into.

In total, there are 8 shades of Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner. The four shades I received are so darn pretty and very pigmented:

  • Midnight: the dark black shade I use most often
  • Royal Plum: I love this shade because it’s purple but subtle
  • Espresso: blackened brown
  • Caribbean Sea: bright green-blue.

I took a look at the reviews on the Mally website to see what other people thought. The Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner is rated 5 stars. The reviews are overwhelmingly enthusiastic and positive. For many, this is their favorite pencil eyeliner. Priced at $18 for 1.2 g. Sharpen with a pencil sharpener. I actually prefer sharpening my pencils myself so I can get the type of point that I like.

QVC sells Starlight Waterproof Liners in bundles at a savings (see the bottom of the post), or you can buy them individually at Ulta Beauty and the Mally website.

I discovered Mally Evercolor Eye Shadow Sticks three years ago, around this time of year, when I was browsing my local Ulta store looking for things to buy with my 20% off coupon. You know I am a fan of cream eyeshadow, and sticks are so great for everyday use and for travel, IMO. I bought Up On Taupe, a taupe shade that reads plum on my lids, and it is my go-to everyday shade. I had wanted to buy more, but truth be told, I was overwhelmed with all the shade choices. There are 21 shades! And now I have 14 of them, yikes! The shades are primarily what I would call neutrals because I consider many purples and even dark blue to be neutrals these days. Actually, I’d say this line is a neutral lover’s dream with lots of variations on bronze, copper, plums, browns etc. They are perfect for work or for a night out.

They come in matte, satin and shimmer finishes. Perfect for women of a certain age or for anyone for that matter who doesn’t require glitter. 😉

Here are the swatches of the 14 shades that I own. I’m showing cool toned swatches that are closest to my skin tone, and also warm toned swatches in the golden sunlight. As you see, the shades look quite different in different lighting conditions. It is next to impossible for me to get decent photos at this time of year with so little natural light!

  • Golden Hour
  • Moonlight
  • Barely Bronze
  • Shimmering Mauve
  • Bliss
  • Over The Taupe
  • Copper Caviar
  • Stone Silver
  • Timeless Taupe

What I didn’t realize till I checked out the Mally Beauty website is that Evercolor Eye Shadow Stick Extra is a multitasking product. The “Extra” is primer. It is primer and eye shadow in one stick! Super handy for when you’re in a hurry to put on your makeup!

The creamy sticks that mostly glide on (there are a couple of shades that are slightly less creamy than others). And the color stays on and stays true till I remove it.

When I use creams, I mostly blend them with my fingers rather than with a brush, and that’s what I do with these. Most days, I grab a Mally Evercolor Stick when I want to do a single shade or a lid shade and different crease color. They’re also good for adding color along the lower lash line. The lightest shades are great for highlighting the inner corner and under the brow bone. They can be relatively sheer or you can build them up. The deeper shades IMO are quite opaque from the first swipe. Quite versatile, these babies are!

$25 for 1.6 grams. QVC sells them in bundles where you can get a good savings! They are also sold individually at Ulta Beauty and the Mally website.

As I mentioned, I have had Up On Taupe for 3 years, and I use it often. Definitely long lasting. And the reviews for the Evercolor Shadow Sticks Extra are also 5 stars with insanely positive comments.

  1. Better than MUFE Aqua XL eye liners?! Now you got my attention!

    1. They are so darn creamy and long wearing, Shireen. I love ’em, but I still do love MUFE Aqua XL too

  2. Ooooooooo pretty purples and purpley-taupes. My fave colours when I want to make my hazel eyes look more green! 🙂 I’ve almost bought one of those shadow crayons a few times now, so I think the next time I’m really going to do it. I love a number of pressed shadow formulas from various brands (it’s such a sensory thing to apply a nice buttery pressed shadow with your fingers) but sticks are infinitely more transportable for travel or touch-ups.

    1. Even the On The Taupe is a purpley shade, Rachel. There are zillions in this lot. I find them so handy and quick for everyday – no primer required and they are bullet-proof. Do you wear bronze or copper with your hazel eyes, too? I think they’d be great as well. And seriously, the pencil liners – if you use pencils – are ab fab!

      1. Oh I love bronzes and coppers, and golds all the way through dirty olive are also perennial favourites. I about died when I saw all the glorious greens in the Melt Smoke Sessions palette and that might still seriously tempt me when/if they restock, even though I’ve tried to swear off buying palettes in general. We’ll see. 😛
Pencils and I have a love-hate relationship. Mainly I hate sharpening them and feel like it’s so wasteful… But then on the other side, how many times do we complain that a liquid or gel liner has dried out long before we’re finished with it? That’s wasteful too. Makeup problems, lol.

  3. I wish that I had picked up that blush while it was still available! So gorgeous! These shadow sticks are beautiful!
