Because I’ve been working so hard in my garden, it just didn’t make sense to paint my nails. The bluestone and marble chips that I was putting onto my walkway did a number on my nails. I ended up having to file them down, but they sure do look better than they did.
I love green, especially a summer green. I dug out my new bottle of Olive & June Long Lasting Polish in opaque Cucumber Sandwich that I bought about a month ago.
First, I applied my O&J Nail Strengthener, and I finished off the bottle.
Then I applied two coats of Cucumber Sandwich. The polish went on like a breeze with the wide O&J brush. I let the polish dry for a couple of minutes, and then I finished it with my favorite glossy topcoat called O&J Super Glossy Topcoat. I dropped on some O&J Dry Drops, and like a miracle, my nails were dry in a minute or two. That was a cinch!
The nail world is in love with jellies and milky translucent polishes this summer. Olive and June just re-released their “goldfish” (translucent) collection from last year and this year’s new summer Electric Eels iridescent collections to follow the sheer-ish trend. Fortunately, they’re in mini bottles. They have three fun mini sets to choose from:
- The Electric Eels Collection: 4 iridescent minis, $20
- The Rainbow Goldfish Limited Edition Collection: 6 colorful translucent minis, $30
- Under the Sea Party: all 10 minis above – 4 iridescent minis and 6 Rainbow Goldfish minis, $50
Ah, what to do? I may jump on the Electric Eels and pick up a couple of more opaque shades I’ve been drooling over.
If the nail of that polish doesn’t evoke high tea, I don’t know what does! I love that color, and it looks beautiful on you, Allison!

Thank you, thank you! Even Jeff commented about how much he likes it! And it’s still on my nails over a week later 🙂
