DefenAge 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream

PR Sample, Affiliate Links

As I wrote in my empties post last week when I finished up BioSerum 8-in-1, DefenAge is a science-based, luxury, clean beauty skincare brand that doesn’t get enough love. Their skincare products are based on a proprietary ingredient the brand calls defensin, a retinol alternative. Here’s what DefenAge says about it:

…defensins can reprogram dormant cells in our body to promote newer-, healthier- and truly youthful-looking new skin. Defensin molecules visibly rejuvenate the skin in a short period of time, resulting in a brighter-looking skin tone, an improvement in the appearance of dark spots, pores, fine lines and wrinkles, and preserving skin moisture.

Defensin molecules activate dormant skin cells and awaken them to create new skin. Kind of amazing. They publish before and after photos on their website, and the results are impressive as well as realistic.

I’ve been using neck products for at least a decade, and before that I used facial moisturizer on my neck, so I wasn’t starting from nothing. Yet, over the past few years, I see deep lines when I look at photos of myself. Hmm.

DefenAge sent me their 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream to try. They promise the following benefits:

  • Reverses a comprehensive range of neck-specific visible signs of skin aging, designed to produce treatment-like results.
  • Soothes the look of deep lines and folds, visibly reduces fine lines, and gives the neck a smooth appearance.
  • Visibly lifts, firms, and tightens sagging neck skin.
  •  Improves visible skin thickness. Brightens.
  • Softens and improves the surface skin texture.
  • Provides rich moisturization.
  • Leaves the neck looking, and feeling, youthful.

They go on to say how it’s different:

  • Specifically designed for the skin of the neck, which ages differently than other parts of our skin.
  • Effective for both early and late stages of neck aging.
  • Fast acting – first results within 2 weeks, full range of results in 6 weeks.
  • Gentle on the sensitive neck skin over retinols.
  • A scientifically validated high-performing formula.
  • Exceeds clean beauty standards. No PEGs, animal- or human-derived ingredients. Fragrance free.

The jar is an airless pump that protects the efficacy of the cream inside.

The white cream is rich, but not too thick. For me, it’s the perfect texture. For several years, I used the old neck cream formula from StriVectin that was extremely thick, probably too thick (they have since reformulated it, but I have two unused jars I bought waiting in the wings – a reason that stocking up is not always a good idea). Then, I switched to PRAI that has a light, fluffy texture. And though I enjoy the PRAI neck cream, I felt that lately I could use a richer cream especially in the cold of winter. DefenAge 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream is that perfect “in-between”.

The formula contains defensins, niacinamide, sea whip (a skin calming ingredient from the sea), phospholipids, peptides and natural extracts to tighten loose skin, and the antioxidant vitamin E.

I started using DefenAge 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream probably around the second week in November, so I am now past the 6 week mark. I love the smooth, silky texture, the airless pump jar, and the fact that it’s fragrance free. And I think that I am seeing changes to my neck. I used to think that my neck looked pretty good because when I looked in the mirror, it looked fine to me. But when I looked at photos of me, that’s when I could really see deep horizontal lines and some skin that look like turkey skin especially at the bottom of my neck. Ugh. Here’s a photo of me from September before I started using DefenAge. See what I mean?

Now, my skin feels less fragile and crepey. Although I still have the two horizontal lines, they look less deep, and I think there’s less “turkey skin”.

I will certainly continue with DefenAge 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream and see if there will be additional improvement.

DefenAge 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream‘s jar contains 1.5 oz., and it’s sold on the DefenAge website where you can get additional information on the brand and its products as well as read testimonials from dermatologists and consumers DefenAge is a cruelty-free brand, and the neck cream is vegan. If you create an account through DefenAge, you can get deep discounts on their products.

  1. StriVectin’s old neck cream is among the very thickest that I have ever tried! I will be curious to see if you find this one effective after continued use. It sounds like a nice cream.

    1. I really love all the DefenAge skincare products I’ve used, and the Neck Cream is impressing me so far! I am curious about the reformulated StriVectin neck cream – I’m wondering if they had the cream less thick. If I ever come across a sample or travel size, I will buy it just to see! But in the meantime, I hope this DefenAge Neck Cream will last me a long time!

  2. I find that a neck cream that’s too thick makes me feel smothered so this sounds like a great solution. And no fragrance is the sweet spot.

    1. “Smothered” is a good descriptor for a thick cream! DefenAge’s products have done very well by me. I wish I could afford them!

  3. I’m not so bothered by the two lines on my neck as the loose skin. Did this firm up your neck at all?

    1. My neck doesn’t have a lot of loose skin, but if I look at photos where I can see crepey looking skin sometimes, I don’t see that now. I had been using PRAI for much of the past 2 years, and though I liked the aesthetics of the cream, I don’t think it was doing as much as it could have.

Would totally be interested in a follow up to your experience!

  5. You look amazing. I really like that this is in an airless container. I’m really having issues with contamination around here when I have little people who like to touch everything.

  8. I have those lines on my neck too. They don’t really bother me but it would be nice to get them looking a little smoother 🙂
