Hello beauty fans! We had a big wind and rain storm on Wednesday night and Thursday. In addition to losing my electricity, landline phone, internet and cable, one of my three lovely Bradford pear trees lost a huge limb that represents about half the tree.
Fortunately, it didn’t fall on my house. But it weighs well over a hundred pounds. We have to cut it up and remove it from the front lawn and sidewalk. I hope my tree survives because it is so pretty in springtime when it is all white.

I am so sorry that your Bradford Pear Tree lost such a large limb. We had some beautiful Bradford Pear trees around our townhouse when we lived in Indianapolis. Loved looking at them in the spring. It was a true sign that winter was over.
Thanks, Sandy! I agree with you completely about the Bradford pears being a sign of spring. I’m afraid the white balls will be much skimpier next spring. And you should see the gigantic oak tree top that fell in the wooded part of my yard. I was so incredibly lucky that it missed my deck, but it’s blocking the path to my compost pile and where I toss tree branches and other garden debris. I’m afraid I may have to hire someone to deal with it coz it is huge.
