First, I finally learned how to unsubscribe from the BirdSend email service provider. Hopefully, you will no longer get my black and white posts from them. For now, you should be getting my branded, more colorful email from MailerLite. Do you recall if the emails you have received from them have a photo or photos from the blogpost of the day in addition to the roses? My iPhone and MAC desktop still show “?” where the blog photos should be, so I’m wondering from those who don’t use Apple products if you see anything different. Or if you do use Apple, do you get the “?”, too?

Anyway…it’s been a while since I wrote about Derma E. Odd, because I use the brand often.

I’ve been wearing mascara more often these days, and my brand of choice at the moment is Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions. I’ve written about Thrive Lash Extensions a number of times (here, for example). To refresh your memory, it’s a lengthening mascara with a tubing formula. The easy to apply, liquidy formula dries around the lash making it look darker and longer. I like it a lot. However, tubing mascaras can be a little harder to remove.

I usually use BioDerma Hydrabio Micellar Water, but I wasn’t completely satisfied with how the micellar water removed the tubing mascara. It often didn’t all come off. Or it came off in large chunks that occasionally got in my eyes. Ugh. I didn’t want to give up on Thrive Lash Extensions, so I guess changing my makeup removal method was in order.

Lately, I went shopping in my skincare stash, and I found an unopened jar of Derma E Universal Cleansing Balm.

I’ve switched to it particularly when I wear Thrive mascara, and it has made a huge difference. The thick, off-white balm melts the mascara away as warm water turns into a cleansing milk on my skin. Yes, my skin gets covered with black from the mascara, but it easily is swept away with a tissue, DHC Cotton Pad, my sea sponge, or a damp face cloth. Problem solved!

Plus, the oil in Derma E Cleansing Balm is wonderful for my dry skin, turning my skin into velvet. The water activated facial balm instantly dissolves dirt, excess oil and impurities even among those with oily skin, and it leaves skin soft, supple and clean.

Its key ingredients include:

  • Cocoa and Shea Butters to soothe and condition
  • Rosehip Oil to moisturize and brighten
  • Camelia Oil that delivers phytonutrients
  • Citrus Oils that tone and balance the skin

The citrus oils leave behind an ever-so-slight citrus scent.

All Derma E skincare products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free, our eco-ethical skin care products contain no parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, lanolin, gluten, soy or GMOs, and are supplied in recyclable packaging.

So all that is the good news. The not so good and surprising news is that I just found out that Derma E Universal Cleansing Balm seems to be discontinued or at least out of stock. Hopefully not forever. Their cleansing balm was always rated highly, not only on the Derma E website, but on Amazon and elsewhere. It works so well. Boo! At least Amazon says it is not discontinued. Hope it returns soon.

But in the meantime, give CeraVe Cleansing Balm with barrier-repairing ceramides a try!
