I Bought This, Affiliate LInks
I got Dermedicine Weightless Face Moisturizer SPF 25 in my Ipsy Plus bag probably four months ago. Because I have so many daytime moisturizers with sunscreen and because in the summer I wear at least SPF 30 and most often SPF 50 if I know I am going to be outdoors, I put the Dermedicine Weightless Face Moisturizer SPF 25 away until fall when the sun is less strong, and I’m not spending quite as much time outdoors in the sun.
I took it out a while ago to try it, and I love it. Not long ago, my friend Kim and I were complaining that we don’t like daytime moisturizers with sunscreen that make our faces look shiny or greasy because so many do. Dermedicine Weightless Face Moisturizer SPF 25 doesn’t make my face look greasy, hooray! And instead of feeling greasy, it has a velvety feel like the City Beauty Mineral Veil SPF 40, but it’s lighter weight because it isn’t 100% mineral. And it’s not runny like my other favorite, Paula’s Choice Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50. Plus there is no white cast whatsoever with Dermedicine.
Dermedicine Weightless Face Moisturizer SPF 25 is a combination physical and chemical sunscreen that screen out UVA/UVB rays. The active ingredients are Octinoxate 7% and Zinc Oxide 4.5%. If you live in or visit areas where coral reefs are nearby, you should pass on this daytime moisturizer because Octinoxate is not a reef-safe ingredient. I will not be doing any ocean swimming, unfortunately, till next summer, and we don’t have coral reefs off the coast of Massachusetts, so for my purposes, I think it’s OK to wear this on my face.
What a love about it is how lightweight it is. “Weightless” is not an overpromise with this daytime moisturizer. In fact, it’s so lightweight that it’s fine to use a serum or two along with it.
But it does have additional beneficial skincare ingredients in it, i. e. antioxidants to prevent environmental damage and stem cells to nourish and for anti-aging benefits.
It is suitable for all skin types, and it works well under makeup. It is not tested on animals. It has no parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and dyes.
Dermedicine Weightless Face Moisturizer SPF 25 has a pleasant, light powdery/sweet scent that fades quickly. I’m sold on this lightweight daytime moisturizer for the “off season”! The tube contains 2 oz. Now, here’s the weird part: on the Dermedicine website, it’s priced at $60, whoa, but on Amazon, the exact same tube sold directly by the company is on sale for $22.88 with the regular Amazon price of $25.99. I’m not sure what’s up with their website pricing it more than twice as high as on Amazon. Nevertheless, on Amazon, it has 80 reviews that are overwhelmingly positive, and it is rated 4.5 out of 5. So if you’re interested, definitely check it out on Amazon.

This sounds like a wonderful moisturizing SPF. I love that it is lightweight! I hate heavy feeling sunscreens that feel yucky on the skin!

If I didn’t have a brand new EltaMD I’d definitely take advantage of this deal. I’m not outside often so SPF25 works for me most days.
It’s so dry here that lightweight moisturizers don’t work for me in fall and winter, but this sure does sound nice.
I think the Dermedicine Weightless Moisturizer SPF 25 would be right on the cusp about whether it would be too light for you and for me! We have more humidity in spring, summer and fall than you probably do in Colorado, so it works for me now. It will be great in the summer (wish I had tried it sooner!). In the winter, though, it is dry and I probably will resort to my heavyweight moisturizers with SPF when I hike, jog or snowshoe. My skin feels velvety and not dry with it on now, but in December, it could be a different story.
It’s interesting that the pricing is so different. But at least you can get a good deal on Amazon!
