Discover SoapStandle: Soap Lasts Longer & Less to Clean Up!

You know that I love bar soap. I use them in the shower and at the sink.

In the past, I have written about soap savers, accessories that make bar soap last longer (reviewed here). I’ve used a couple of different kinds over the years. They all worked to keep the bar soap drier because they allow the air to circulate around the bar. A dry bar soap means it doesn’t melt away as fast. Excellent!

But the downside to the soap savers I tried in the past is that the wet soap and the lather oozes through the soap saver on to the surface that it’s sitting on. It dries and makes a mess on my sink or on the bath/shower stall. It’s not a big deal, but it does require some elbow grease to remove it. And after I clean it up, the process starts all over again the next time I use the soap.

Enter SoapStandle. In fact, the tagline for this little handy-dandy device is “The goo stops here”, and they are right!

Its funny name, SoapStandle comes from “stand and handle in one”. Check out their cool video:

SoapStandle is an affordable, small, plastic, curvy oval that sits underneath the bar of soap, elevating it from the surface below and letting the air circulate to dry out the wet bar.

On one side, it has small plastic teeth, so you can press the bar into it to keep both in place.

Sometimes, I do that and lather the soap on the other side, and sometimes, I rest the bar soap on the SoapStandle so I can lather the soap by flipping it back and forth. Either way, it is so easy to use. My bar soap stays dry because it’s elevated and the air can get at it, and the water is able to drain through it.

The folks at SoapStandle have even measured how much more soap you get than versus not using the SoapStandle (your soap will last up to 30% longer) and versus using other types of soap savers (15-20%). Wow.

Because SoapStandle is very small, it doesn’t add bulk to your soap. It fits anywhere your soap fits! Look at the difference in size between the Soap Saver and the SoapStandle.

Plus, the handmade soaps that I buy are often gorgeous in their own right, and SoapStandle is invisible underneath the bar. 🙂

The extra benefit for me that I mentioned above from using the SoapStandle is that the surface underneath doesn’t get nearly as crusted with dry soap as it did when I used the Soap Saver or other similar soap accessories. After a few days, there might be a tiny bit of dried soap on the sink or bath (see below), but nothing like what I would have to clean up previously.

In addition, the SoapStandle itself is a cinch to clean unlike other types of soap savers where the soap ends up discoloring the saver and living permanently in its strands.

SoapStandles come in clear as well as a rainbow’s worth of colors.

Importantly, SoapStandle is now made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials, so SoapStandle is not introducing more plastic to the world!

You can buy them on Amazon or on the SoapStandle website. They come in duos called the Double Trouble 2-Pack in clear, pink, red or blue,

or you can buy them in larger quantities of 3, 4 or 6. I found an online retailer where you can buy just one to try it out. However, I think these little cuties are a game changer, and you’ll want more than one. Plus, with a lovely bar or two of handmade natural soap, SoapStandle would make a terrific hostess gift for the bar soap lover!

  5. I love the idea of these. I think it would also be amazing for traveling. Stick it in at home and then when you get to the hotel or Air B&B you do not have to worry about your soap touching where it might not be as clean. Plus since your products would be solid you do not have to worry about liquid limits.

  6. Hi, Allison – These sound great! I’m going to get them right away. Can’t wait, especially because my soap holders that are built into the walls are ceramic black. So they show the soap more as most soaps are white. Thanks for this great tip! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    1. Angie, I am glad you think that SoapStandle can help you too! I truly like them so much better than my old soap dishes and woven mats. You don’t really see these at all, so if you love pretty soaps they won’t take away from them and will help them last much longer!
