Early October ’21 Beauty Spotlight Team Weekly Roundup

It’s been an exciting but stressful few days. After 17 years, I bought a new (actually previously owned) car to replace my dear Infiniti FX35 that sadly is having engine problems. The much smaller, and probably more my size (I don’t need to sit on a pillow to see), Infiniti QX30 is going to be delivered tomorrow/Saturday. I didn’t take a photo because I thought I would have it by now.

I had hoped my original Infiniti could hang on for another couple of years till the auto market decides if it is going to be electric cars or hybrids going forward and till Infiniti introduces one or the other. But things happen when they happen. I hope this newer, more technologically advanced Infiniti will last me for at least several years.

Now, on to the Beauty Spotlight Team Weekly Roundup!

Put your seat belt on, because annually, 8 million metric tons of plastic ends up in our oceans and waterways, and that number is doubling every ten years. So, those convenient plastic bags we have been using are really an inconvenience and dangerous for both us and the planet. Enjoy your new-to-you car! Did you choose your Ipsy items yet?

    1. Thank you, Gabrielle! I am still doing the every other month with Ipsy so I am not getting it in October. Are you getting the big box this month?

      1. Gabrielle says:

Ah! I forgot! The Glam Bag X is next month, so I’m waiting eagerly to see what other spoilers get released. I got the TokyoMilk perfume this month from Ipsy, so I am please about that.

        1. Which TokyoMilk did you get? I got TokyoMilk Dark from Scentbird a couple of years ago, and I was so hopeful that it would work for me. Sadly, it didn’t so I gave it to my friend’s husband. Their fragrances are so interesting.

          1. Gabrielle says:

I’m getting French Kiss. Sorry Dark didn’t work for you. This will be my first TokyoMilk fragrance. How are things going with the new car?

          2. I haven’t tried French Kiss. You’ll have to let me know what you think! I still don’t have the registration for the car, so I can’t get an inspection sticker yet. Hopefully soon. I haven’t driven it much as a result. But when I was on my way back from the library yesterday, the “add air to the tires” warning popped up which is a pain, but at least with this car it tells you which tires need air (they’re only down a pound so I don’t think it’s an emergency, lol).

          3. Gabrielle says:

I really hope you get that registration soon!

          4. Got it today, and now the car is registered and inspected!! Thanks for the good wishes, they worked!

          5. Gabrielle says:

Hooray! I am delighted your car is now registered and you can drive it and enjoy!!!!

  2. Sandy Pincombe says:

Hope your car works out well! Mine was bought for me by 2 of my kids and was a couple of years old but I am so blessed to have it!

    1. Thank you so much, Sandy! Now I am waiting to get the registration so I can get it inspected. Usually the dealership does that, I think, but they got me the car faster, I guess. I remember when your kids gifted you your new car. How wonderful!

  3. Hi, Allison – Congratulations on your new car! It would be great if you could share a picture, perhaps when you go on your first trip with it. 😉 I’m sure it’s gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the news – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    1. Thank you, Angie! It was such a horrendous week and frantic buying trip that I never got a picture of the car. But it was delivered to me on Saturday afternoon though I don’t have the title, registration or inspection sticker. Although the salesman says I can drive it, it makes me nervous to drive a car without an inspection sticker, lol. So it’s sitting in the garage.
