Eco Lips Pure & Simple Lip Balm

Summer is one season where lips can get dried out from the sun and wind. It’s always a good idea to carry a tube or two of lip balm with you.

Eco Lips Pure & Simple natural, organic, fair-trade, cruelty-free, and super affordable lip balm is a terrific brand to consider. Not sure how I missed out on it all these years!

The Pure & Simple collection is exactly that: pure and simple with only a few natural and organic ingredients: sunflower oil, beeswax, natural flavor, vitamin E. That’s it. In fact, the formula is edible, made from food-grade ingredients, so it’s a great option for kids too.

I was sent Coconut, Vanilla, Raspberry and Unflavored/Gold. The three flavored options are yummy, but the flavor doesn’t last more than a minute, i.e. you can smell the “flavor” as you apply it, but after that it’s gone.

The organic sunflower oil is lightweight but protective on the lips. It lasts for a few hours, and it’s super quick and easy to reapply.

Eco Lips Pure & Simple Lip Balm (as well as all of their other lip balm products) comes in a “Plant Pod” twist-up tube, no plastic in the tube or the label, so it’s good for the earth. Here’s what Eco Lips has to say about it:

Eco Lips lip balms are now made from 100% plant material and can be disposed as general waste after use.

Environmentally friendly and sustainable, our new plant-based tubes are crafted of material re-claimed from farm byproducts which otherwise would have been burned. The tubes look, feel and function just like a traditional plastic lip balm tube. They contain zero plastic elements, heavy metals, or polymers, including BPA and phthalates.

The Plant Pod tube is another important plus for choosing Eco Lips. I am assuming from reading this that I could add empty Eco Lips tubes to my compost pile. Love that.

Eco Lips has several different collections of which the Pure & Simple line is only one. They have other options such as:

  • hemp
  • sunscreen with zinc oxide
  • vegan, bee-free formulas
  • tinted balms
  • lip scrubs and masks
  • Mongo Kiss with hydrating African Mongongo oil that’s rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and other protective and nourishing nutrients
  • Lip Food, another collection with hydrating and nourishing natural and organic ingredients.

Check out Eco Lips’ website for more information about Eco Lips’ product line as well as its corporate mission. You can purchase Eco Lips products through the website or other retailers including RiteAid, Vitacost.com, Amazon, and VitaminLife. The Pure & Simple products are priced around $2.49 per tube or less, an excellent deal.

  3. I’s surprising how many lip balms we go through for just two people. Mainly they end up lost or going through the washing machine though. But I’d love to have these around any time of the year.
