Elemis is a luxury British skincare brand with over 30 years experience in research and development. The two key areas that they focus on are:
- anti-acne
- anti-aging
Within the anti-aging subcategory, their Pro-Collagen Collection is the most well-known. A couple of months ago when I received my last Ipsy bag, I lucked out when I saw that I was sent a jar of their core product, Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.
The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream promises to deeply hydrate dry skin for up to 24 hours and to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with noticeable results after 4 weeks of twice a day use. The primary benefits that I have noticed after my somewhat more sporadic use are serious hydration and a plumping effect that make my fine lines less noticeable (though they’re still there).
The lightweight, white gel-cream contains:
- moisture producing algae: ie Padina Povanica and algae from the Far East, Chorella
- Gingko Biloba for firmness and instant hydration
- Rose and Mimosa extracts for a mild scent as well as for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is a perfect lightweight cream for summer because it melds with skin quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling behind. It plays well with makeup. Because it’s so hydrating, I think it would also be delightful and effective for winter use.
The Marine Cream comes in several different sizes:
- a 15 ml travel size tube for $52
- 30 ml/1.0 fl. oz. jar for $94
- 50 ml jar for $140
- 100 ml jar for $245
Because Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is so expensive, it is unlikely that I will buy it again. There are something that I will pay a lot for, but because there are so many wonderful anti-aging moisturizers on the market for more affordable prices I won’t spend that much money to replace it when I am finished. I have the 30 ml jar, and though the inner jar where the product is kept is small, I only need to use a little at a time.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is sold on their website. It is also widely available throughout the US at Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Macy’s, Nordstrom, QVC ($30 off over $60 spend), Amazon, Dermstore.com where it’s 15% off, and FragranceNet.com where it is more deeply discounted. It is also deeply discounted at Walmart.com, but such low prices versus the MSRP make me think it is old product. Nevertheless, trying the travel size tube for $10 from Walmart.com is probably worth the risk! When I was visiting London last fall, Elemis was sold at all the major department stores.
I wish I could justify buying Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream because it is a lovely moisturizer. Oh well.

I haven’t tried a lot of Elemis products yet, but I do love this moisturizer, Hilda!
