Wow, how could it possibly be almost the end of June? How could half the year be gone already? Yikes.
What’s on your calendar for this weekend? On Sunday night, we’re going to see a couple who I haven’t seen in more than 2 years, I think. The last time they came for dinner at my house, we were watching the Kentucky Derby and drinking wine. Then I went to cook the shrimp I had marinated. I was talking to Andrew while I was cooking, and time just went out of my head. Shrimp take about 2 minutes on each side, but after about 20 minutes, Andrew asked me if maybe I should take the shrimp off the heat. I told him that I wanted the marinade to caramelize on the shrimp and they needed a couple more minutes. Well, they were like shoe leather. I will never live that down. This time, Andrew will be cooking the shrimp at their house!
