essence match2cover! concealer duo

I like essence’s coverstick concealer, and I reviewed it a few months ago. I found it to be as effective as my Stila stick concealer at covering up my dark spots but at a much lower price.

I Bought This

Recently I rediscovered the essence match2cover concealer compact in my makeup stash unused, since I got it a couple of months ago. I had forgotten about it. So now I was curious about the essence match2cover! cream concealer duo. It’s a simple little case with two concealer shades, a light and a medium shade. Initially, I wasn’t sure what the difference between the stick and the duo was.

For me, the match2cover concealer was just great for hiding the shadows under my eyes. I didn’t realize how bad they were until recently. I guess my skin is thinning, and the shadows are more prevalent. I tried covering them up with BB cream, but that irritated the skin under my eyes. Some time ago, I tried the essence concealer stick, but it was too heavy for under my eyes and it pulled the skin a bit. The light shade of the concealer cream is a little too light and the medium is a little too dark. What’s nice about the two shades is you can mix them to suit your own skin tone.

I also like the fact that the concealer is very lightweight, but I find it provides enough coverage. It goes on smoothly, is easy to apply with my finger, and I didn’t have any problems with creasing.

It’s lightweight but really covers my dark circles, and it’s a steal 😉

  2. Ah, great post as I am starting to look for a new under eye concealer. I’m currently using the Revlon, Color Stay concealer and the applicator is a pain in the butt. It’s one of those clicking, twist ups. You twist and twist and get nothing .. keep twisting then .. blob o’ product comes out. Such a waste. Definitely not going to repurchase.

Check it out when you’re in Ulta. It’s super-inexpensive so if you don’t like it, you’re not out much. The liquid concealers always end up in my fine lines. This one is weightless and I dab it on with my finger, sometimes just with the lightest shade and it’s fine for me, and sometimes I mix in a little of the medium tone. As I mentioned, it’s great for dark circles, but I use essence’s other concealer in the tube to cover my sun damage.

  3. I actually don’t use concealer anymore but when I did I swore by Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal. It has a consistency that is like a mousse and looks beautiful on the skin.

I’m not familiar with that brand, but I would love to try a mousse concealer. The liquids often settle into my lines but hopefully a fluffy mousse wouldn’t!
