Exotic Perfume Oils from eNVie Parfum

I adore perfume and fragrances of all kinds.

In order to get more information about fragrances in general and to find out about more scents, I joined a Facebook group called Facebook Fragrance Friends. Tthrough that group, I often get turned on to scents that I would never have known about.

Perfume oils are often my favorite way to wear scents because they are usually more long lasting than eau de parfum sprays. So when I hear about a perfume oil that people with similar scent preferences to mine, I’ve gotta check ’em out.

In one of the threads about perfume oil from an indie brand eNVie Parfum that I had never heard of, many members weighed in about how fabulous the oils are. My curiosity was piqued. The woman who recommended the brand said that their oils were very long lasting, and that some of their oils were orientals, just my thing. Immediately, I went to the eNVie website to find out about the brand and their perfume oils. The site is written in a kind of mixture of French and English, or at least the scent names are.

Their primary scent is called Saphir. I think the derivation of the name, Saphir, comes from the gemstone, sapphire, because their bottles are sapphire blue.

Saphir is the building block of all their scents; it can be worn alone or layered with other scents to deepen the fragrance.  Here’s how eNVie describes Saphir:

The signature of eNVie. A pure perfume designed to pair with any other eNVie huile de parfum to enjoy more saphir with layering, more bliss of experience or simply worn nude on the skin. This is an extremely versatile perfume created to enhance your eNVie experience.

Egyptian Amber & Musk Resin purified into natural notes of blue balsamic amber, sweet papyrus oil from Cairo and Siam benzoin that hints naturally of occurring warm and pure vanillin. Saphir has a natural longevity and will continue to age beautifully.”

In addition, there are a family of 16 other scents based on Saphir, the base perfume oil: Vanille, Lavender, Rose, Red, Sandalwood, White Patchouli, Black Patchouli, Incense, Blue, Amber, Fir Trees, Honey, Indira, Jasmin, Evening, and Oud. The scents also come in blue square bottles with either silver or gold caps. Most of the scents are gender neutral, though some lean more masculine and others more feminine. I’m a fan of gender neutral and even masculine scents, so they are all of interest to me.

On the eNVie website, the prices for the 25 ml square sapphire colored bottles of perfume oil range from $225 to $300. Yikes.

There are also travel sizes that come in attractive red or blue travel cases containing two 5 ml bottles of the scents of the buyer’s choice for $90.

Now $90 is more affordable than $250 or so, but before I spend even $90, I want to actually smell the fragrance and see how it reacts with my body chemistry. I searched Google to see if I could find decants of the eNVie perfume oils somewhere so I could try them first. Fortunately, I came up with a website that sells them, Ajevie. I ordered two small vials (about 0.5 ml each, I believe): one vial of Saphir ($12) and one vial of Vanille Saphir ($11). There was a small shipping charge of about $3. It took only a couple of days to receive the samples.

Both Saphir and Vanille Saphir smell divine. I don’t know if it’s because they are oils, but you don’t get the same initial blast of the top notes like you do with an eau de parfum. The scents do evolve over time, but they are deeper right from the start.

Saphir and Vanille Saphir smell similar. Both are vanilla-based oriental scents with Vanille, not surprisingly, having a stronger and sweeter vanilla note – yet it doesn’t smell like a bakery, it smells rich. I’m not sure I understand the benefit of layering Vanille Saphir over Saphir, so I didn’t waste the small amount I have to try that. I have only worn them individually.

Here’s how eNVie describes Vanille:

Tranquil vanilla undertone compliments and inspires the amber within saphir vibrating nectarous vanilla and decadent sweetness on the skin as the perfume breathes through the notes.
Top Note: French Vanilla Bean, Vanilla Bourbon, Siam Benzoin
Heart Note: Vanilla Absolute, Green Peppercorn, Vanilla infused Labdanum
Base Note: As the Ambre notes release subtle resin from Vanilla infused Myrrh and White Frankincense, the composition drifts through a narrow careen of Egyptian Amber and Musk, purified and aged in a vanilla oak barrel. Nuances of oak sift during the olfactory experience.”

I love both of these scents. They have the notes that I love: amber, musk, benzoin, vanillin.

But before I take the plunge and seriously consider ordering 10 ml of perfume oil for $90, I wanted to make sure that the scents would last on my skin especially since that’s the key benefit of perfume oil for me. But I wish the samples were a little bit bigger (each vial is just short of an inch and a half) so I could put enough on to make sure that the oil lasts. Oh what to do!

The brand name, eNVie, is a little odd for a luxury brand with its play on the word “envy”, but after smelling the fragrances, I’m not going to get hung up on that 😉

If you’re a fan of exotic, warm scents, I encourage you to go to the Ajevie website and read the descriptions of all 17 Saphir oils from eNVie. To find eNVie on the Ajevie website if you decide you want to try a sample vial, type eNVie into the search box at the top of the page or just click on the links in this post. Then, use the dropdown menu on the eNVie page to check out all the scent offerings. I initially clicked Shop, but the dropdown menu there doesn’t list eNVie, but they definitely carry it.

Do any of the eNVie perfume oils appeal to you?

  1. Both of these scents sound utterly divine! What a great idea to have joined a FB fragrance group- that is a perfect way to learn about new-to-you fragrances! I prefer to wear perfume oils because of the intensity and longevity!

    1. I adore the FB Fragrance Friends group, Helen. I have gotten so many great tips from the 10,000+ members!

  2. $90 for 10mL?! No way I can bring myself to spend that much. Good that they allow customers to try little vials before committing to such huge price but still…no way from me.

    1. LOL, Shireen! I don’t buy luxury makeup (except if you count Hourglass) so I justify my perfume addiction that way. Do you have a favorite scent?

      1. Okay…to be fair I am obsessed with Tom Ford Black Orchid which is also pricey AF. LOL!

        1. I knew it, lol <3

Good thing that perfumes/scents cause me to get bad headaches,. I don’t even have to think about the price of these lovely oils.

    1. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that, Sandy. DiEtta just wrote in that she too gets fragrance migraines. But she was lucky to find 2 scents that she loves and can wear. On the other hand, you are lucky that you’re not a perfume wearer – think of all that money you’re saving and can spend on makeup 😉

  4. DiEtta says:

Morning 🙋🏻☕️🌻 love trying different perfumes. Right now my all time favorite is by Chaz Dean “Sixthirteen” and coming in second is by Nest “Black Tulip.” I tried both first in a travel spray size then I ended up buying the regular size. Someone always ask me what perfume fragrance I am wearing, especially when I wear Chaz Dean “Sixthirteen.” (I have trouble with fragrance migraines and these do not trigger headaches.) 💐🇺🇸

    1. I believe that I have sniffed Nest’s Black Tulip at Sephora, but I need to refresh my memory about it next time I visit the store. Anything with “Black” in the name usually suits me. I have never heard of Chaz Dean Sixthirteen, but I will immediately go to Frangrantica to learn about it. I’m sorry you get fragrance migraines, but glad that you’ve found some scents that you love that you can wear. Thank you for commenting about your faves, DiEtta. I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in this post, but I’m glad that it is encouraging some people to comment and give me the names of their favorites so I can check them out – that’s the way we learn xoxo

  5. That bottle looks beautiful! Of late, I find myself ditching florals and gravitating towards warm, deep scents such as amber, sandalwood, and musk (my Mum says it means I’m getting older haha). Saphir sounds like the kind of fragrance I’m reaching for these days.

    1. Oh, absolutely, Renu!

  6. I love a great vanilla scent. I’ve been looking for years that smell similar or exactly like L’Occitane which was discontinued long time ago. I’m going to give this a try, hope I will like it

    1. If you do, I hope you’ll like it too. It’s a tiny amount for $11 but I’ve managed to get about 5+ usage occasions out of it, and there’s still a tiny bit at the bottom. It is quite a divine vanilla

  7. “Saphir” is how sapphire is spelled in French 😉
The brand seems to use French words in their scent names so that’s probably why!

    1. Thank you! I thought that was the case. The company is based in San Francisco, but I guess they’re borrowing a little French mystique

  8. You know that I wouldn’t buy them but I love that they sell sample vials. When a fragrance isn’t carried locally then testing it is vital. They do sound great for you.

    1. LOL, I know you aren’t a fragrance person, Marcia, but thank you, I think they are great for me. Now all I need is a cash infusion before I upgrade to the 2 5ml bottles!

  9. Ummmm I need these!

    1. They’re amazing if you like deep, warm orientals!

  10. I do like perfume oils bu my tastes in perfume are complete opposite of yours! LOL

    1. Unfortunately, eNVie doesn’t have any light florals 🙁

  11. These both sound like very good perfumes. I have never used perfume oils, but maybe I should try some.

    1. If you like a potent, long lasting fragrance, perfume oils are the way to go. You should try one sometime!

  12. This sounds right up my alley! I love exotic warm scents so much!!!

    1. Then you’d love these, Christine! They’re so warm and rich

  13. This parfumes smell very fine, i used them at holiday in the hotels dolomites 🙂

    1. That’s so interesting, Steffanie, that you found eNVie perfume oil in the Dolomites since the brand is a small indie brand made in San Francisco. But how cool is that?

  14. That sounds lovely – I really want a vanilla scent – but it’s definitely out of my price range.

    1. It will probably end up being out of my price range too 🙁

  15. I love changing my perfume up daily (it’s like an accessory right!?). The scents sound so good and joining that FB group would definitely impact my wallet!! LOL You are brave. 🙂

  16. Oh my goodness I didn’t even realize perfume oils were a thing! I’m not a fan of musky scents though. Could you recommend a perfume (or oil) that is warm, maybe a little tropical and subtly sweet but not suffocating? Crazy parameters, I know :/

    1. Kaylee, have you tried any of the La Vanila scents? There’s a vanilla coconut and also vanilla grapefruit that might fit the bill for you, and you can check it out at Sephora.

      1. Allison,

I have not but I will definitely check it out. Thank you so much!

  17. I love the sound of Vanille Saphir personally.

  18. Jen Walker says:

These aren’t my top pick in scent choices, although I do enjoy deeper scents on rare occasions. I’ve not really worn many oils to have an accurate scent of cost to know if the full price is *that* expensive, but oils are always so much more expensive since they are more concentrated and last so long. I’ll have to check out the site for samples to see all the offerings!
