Retexturing is a relatively new buzzword in skincare. In fact, I just reviewed a facial retexturizer from another skincare brand a couple of weeks ago. Now, retexturing is happening for body care.
Exuviance, a brand that I use often, is known for their founders, Drs. Van Scott and Yu, who discovered the antiaging benefits of glycolic acid on skin and who developed the first glycolic acid peel. Now, they have created a retexturing, exfoliating treatment with 10% glycolic acid/PHA (polydroxy acid, a gentler form of AHA) for the skin on arms and legs.
Exuviance Retexturing Treatment was developed to turn around dry, flaky or rough skin on arms and legs and to help crepey skin. It can also be used for Keratosis Pilaris, the bumps that can surface on the back of arms. Fortunately, I don’t have Keratosis Pilaris so I can’t address its effectiveness in helping with that, but I do have very dry skin. Although I’ve been testing Exuviance Retexturing Treatment product over the past week since I received it from the blogging association, Brandbacker, I think the true test for me will come this winter when my skin is at its driest and flakiest. Nevertheless, Retexturing Treatment has worked even over this short time to make my dry skin look and feel smoother and less ashy.
With Vitamin E and shea butter, the product claims to “lightly hydrate”. I was initially concerned that light hydration wouldn’t be enough for my dry skin, but I was wrong. I usually apply Exuviance Retexturing Treatment at night before bed because you’re not supposed to apply this after shaving because the GA could be irritating. When I wake up in the morning, my skin still looks and feels hydrated instead of dry. I’m impressed. I’m hoping that longer term use will help the occasional crepey look that I get on my arms and around my thigh/knee area when my skin is especially dry. The cream also can help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier so hopefully my skin won’t get as dry in between uses.
Exuviance Retexturing Treatment has a light, pleasant, sweet floral scent that disappears immediately and won’t interfere with any perfume that you might wear. The cream is not the least bit greasy, but it immediately softens skin.
Priced at $42 for a large tube of 6 fl. oz., Exuviance Retexturing Treatment can be purchased on the Exuviance/Neostrata website where I noticed there’s a 20% off end of summer sale going on right now with the code: EXUVIANCESUMMER, at Ulta Beauty, on dermstore.com and other online retailers. Made in the U.S.

This sounds like such a great cream. I love exfoliating body creams and lotions! I would use it on my feet as well!

I’ve been doing the same thing, Helen! I don’t miss my feet with this nice cream!
I have a big variety of exfoliating products… body cream, lotion for in shower and for after, gentile scrub and deep scrub…all including for face and lips 🙂
So big big fan of smooth skin 🙂
To be honest, I had never tried an exfoliating cream before, and I find it to be so handy. I have a million scrubs for the shower, but it’s nice to be able to use the cream at any time.
I have a complex face routine and I’m using every-other day exfoliating creams with AHA alpha hydroxy acid(glycolic and lactic acids) and BHA beta hydroxy acid (salicylic acid) and it’s mandatory for day time a cream with SPF at least 30 🙂

It’s nice to have that alternative for arms and legs like you do for your face. I like being able to exfoliate my limbs without having to get in the shower!
I need to get this now while theres a sale! Sounds like I would like it!
It’s a great alternative to having to exfoliate in the shower!
What a great idea! I love that this is a lotion instead of a rough scrub 🙂 Sold!

This sounds like another great product from Exuviance. No wonder you like the brand so much.
I do like Exuviance. Glycolic acid and its friends seem to work for me!
That’s a pretty decent price! It sounds really nice, too. I’ve just recently started experimenting with retexturing/resurfacing products.

Oooh, this product fascinates me and I love your description of it. For the amount of product in the tube, it definitely is worth the price. I need to try this one from Exuviance because I love all of the products I tried from them.
This is another good one from Exuviance, Brigette, especially for winter!
I have not tried that product yet but I enjoyed your review and experience with this antiaging lotion for the body!! Can’t wait to try this in the future!!
