Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish & Purifying Cleansing Gel

A couple of weeks ago, I received two more products from Exuviance via Brandbacker, the bloggers and brands association:

Over the past year or so, I’ve tried a number of skincare products from Exuviance and NeoStrata (the parent company and a separate branded product line), and I have always been impressed.

The two scientists who started NeoStrata Skincare Company, Drs. Eugene Van Scott and Ruey Yu, hold  more than 100 U.S. and foreign patents and have published many important journal articles. They wrote the chapter in the definitive textbook for the field of cosmetic dermatology, “Alpha Hydroxy Acids, PolyHydroxy Acids, Aldobionic Acids and Their Topical Applications” in the Textbook of Cosmetic Dermatology. Importantly, they discovered glycolic acid and promoted its use in cosmetic dermatology.

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish deliver quick skin resurfacing with an intensive exfoliating treatment that is made up of a unique blend of chemical, physical and enzyme exfoliators working together. The formula contains professional grade crystals – the type used by dermatologists (not polyethylene beads!) – along with Papaya Enzyme and 10% Glycolic Acid. The Triple Dermabrasian Face Polish dissolves impurities that can clog pores, loosens and removes dead skin cells, and polishes skin resulting in a silky feeling and healthy glow. This process stimulates skin cell renewal for brighter, clearer skin with less visible dark spots and pores. In addition, exfoliation helps skincare products work more effectively because they don’t have to make their way through dead skin cells.

The product is recommended for use once or twice a week.

Here’s what the polish looks like. It’s very thick so a little goes a long way.

I apply a thin layer of the product onto my clean, wet skin. Then I massage it for about 30 seconds. I leave it on for about 2 minutes, but if your skin is sensitive, leave it on just for a minute, especially at first. I’ve been using glycolic acid for quite a while so I can leave it on for 2 minutes. Then I rinse it off with cool water. My face glows  😀

I like that the face polish contains 3 different exfoliators at once because I feel like the product is more effective. Plus, it works in such a short amount of time. I like the feeling of massaging the product on my face. It’s very relaxing. And it does leave my face feeling very clean, smooth and bright. After the long cold winter with dry indoor heat, my stressed, dull, dry skin is happy to have this wonderful facial treatment.

I think the product would be appropriate for all skin types except perhaps those with extremely sensitive skin. My skin is often sensitive, but I think because I use glycolic acid and I’ve been using cleansers with grit, I have no problem using the Triple Microdermabrasion product.

The Exuviance Triple Dermabasion Face Polish tube contains 2.6 oz/75 g, and it looks like it could last for a couple of months, using a small amount each time it’s applied. It is not tested on animals. It is made in the U.S. It is priced at $72. It is on the Exuviance website, and at Ulta.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycolic Acid, Alumina, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Isononyl Isononanoate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glyceryl Stearate, Ammonium Hydroxide, Arginine, Butylene Glycol, Stearyl Alcohol, Polyacrylate-1 Crosspolymer, PEG-100 Stearate, Lactobionic Acid, Papain, Cetyl Alcohol, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, PEG-75 Stearate, Dehydroxanthan Gum, Ceteth-20, Steareth-20, Carbomer, Algin, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Parfum (Fragrance), CI 19140 (Yellow 5), CI 14700 (Red 4).

Exuviance Purifyig Cleansing Gel

Currently, I have a million cleansers. So when I received this deluxe sample, I thought to myself that I didn’t need another cleanser. Little did I suspect that Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel would become one of the ones I reach for most frequently. Since I like it so much, I decided to review it as well.

facial cleanser

The cleanser is a thick, green gel. A very little makes lots of soft, creamy lather. Though I usually prefer unscented cleanser, I actually like the light slightly floral, sweet scent. I can smell it when I am applying the cleanser but it goes away as I massage it onto my skin.

This is a very gentle cleanser that does not leave my skin feeling stripped or tight. Love it!

After using the product for a couple of weeks, I finally read about it. Since it is a sample, it didn’t come with any materials. Here’s what I found out: Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel is “anti-aging face cleanser with Alpha and Polyhydroxy Acids to soothe and improve the skin’s texture. It is

  • Formulated with Glycolic Acid (AHA) and Gluconolactone (PHA)
  • Deep cleans to remove impurities
  • Non-drying and gentle to skin
  • For all skin types, including sensitive skin.”

The full size bottle contains 7.2 oz. and it comes in a plastic pump bottle. It is made in the US, and is not tested on animals. It’s also sold on the Exuviance website and at Ulta and is priced at $32.

I like this cleanser a lot. I’m hoping I can make it last until Ulta’s next coupon event!

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, TEA-Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Gluconolactone, Polyquaternium-10, Benzophenone-4, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Parfum (Fragrance), CI 42090 (Blue 1), CI 19140 (Yellow 5).

    1. It does work fast! All of the Exuviance and NeoStrata products I’ve tried have been terrific. I don’t know if they sell worldwide but they should. The guys who started the company are the ones who came up with glycolic acid for skincare.

I am using Exuviance Vespera serum for several years. These two products also look very interesting, will order them when I finish my current microdermabrasion peeling from Lierac and Bliss.

    1. I’m not familiar with the Exuviance Verspera serum, but I will definitely be on the lookout for it at Ulta, Jane. I love all the Exuviance and NeoStrata Skincare products that I’ve tried so far. But Lierac and Bliss are both favorite brands on mine too! What I like about Exuviance is that the two dermatologist/researchers who started the company are the ones who discovered the benefits of glycolic acid for skincare, so I am always interested in what they come up with 🙂

  6. My skin can be sensitive, particularly on my face. It reacts like crazy to products sometimes lol I’ll prob have to steer clear of this. Maybe it’ll show up in Birchbox or something and I can try it out!
