FaceOff Makeup Removing Cloth: An Easy Effective Way to Remove My Makeup

Although I am a big fan of micellar water for removing my makeup, over the past few weeks I’ve noticed that I’m not getting all of my makeup off – especially my foundation – with micellar water on a cotton pad. I’ve been a little surprised at how much more comes off with toner after cleansing. I’ve even noticed foundation stains on the facecloth that I use over the little heating pads I use at night to treat my dry eye. Hmm. And I thought my double cleanse method was so effective. Guess not.

A few days ago, I received an entire shipping box of FaceOff cleansing cloths. I hit the jackpot!

FaceOff is an all-natural, very soft, reusable, microfiber face cloth that removes makeup without chemicals or detergents.

I just wet the FaceOff and use as I would a normal face cloth, and my makeup comes off without a lot of tugging.

I have used a couple of other similar products, but FaceOff gets the job done the best of any microfiber cleansing cloth I’ve tried. In fact, it removed all of my makeup, unlike micellar water followed by my cleanser. I was more than impressed with the results!

I also love the fact that FaceOff is reusable for three or four months. Cleaning it is a breeze with soap and water.

You can also machine wash FaceOff as long as you don’t use bleach or fabric softener. Hang it to dry, and it’s dry within a few hours because of the ultrathin microfibers it is made from.

FaceOff is definitely great for travel, but truth be told, it’s great for me to use at home. As I mentioned, it actually gets my skin cleaner than my usual double cleanse method using micellar water and a regular cleanser and my Foreo.

As Earth Day approaches, I’m glad that I have FaceOff because it is so environmentally-friendly! Glad to know I’m keeping at least a few cotton pads (that do decompose over time) out of the landfill.

FaceOff measures 10″ x 10″ which is plenty big. It is priced at $14.99, but if you buy them in bulk on the FaceOff website, there are additional savings. I noticed they’re also sold on The Grommet. They come in a junior size for kids as well. I think they make a nice gift too.

Have you tried FaceOff yet?

I haven’t tried FaceOff but I received a similar cleansing cloth in a sub box a while back and I loved it. I still have it and now I’ll probably start using it again,I don’t know why I stopped.I have to say FaceOff does sound nicer than the one I have and if they run a sale I would be interested in getting one,I especially like that they are environmentally friendly and I love the loop to hang it to dry, details matter! lol. Thanks for a great review. 🙂

    1. I have tried two other brands. One wasn’t as good, and the other one I too got in a sub box (BB5) and though it does a good job getting my makeup off, it’s tiny and it’s red and you can’t really wash it by hand like this one. I like the white and the bigger size and washing it out after use is a breeze.

  2. I’ve never tried one of these before but I always see the makeup eraser at Sephora and I’ve come super close to purchasing it, but never have. I think I’ll look into this brand as it seems to have worked great for you!

    1. I’m not sure, Christine, if I also own a Makeup Eraser or a different brand. I got a small red square one in a BB5 box, and it did a good job taking off my makeup though it was actually too small and the I prefer the size and white color of the FaceOff so I can actually see what’s coming off. I am honestly impressed by this product! Not just for travel 🙂

  3. I’ve never heard of this brand but this cloth sounds like a winner! I have a small Makeup Eraser cloth but haven’t given it a try yet. I just can’t imagine a cloth taking it all off without the need of additional products.

First don’t judge okay? I use a microfiber cloth for washing my face, here it goes okay…..I get a package of 24 yellow microfiber cloths that are for washing your car at Costco. They are exactly the same microfiber cloths that you use for your face. Super big and so much cheaper. I use my face cleanser with it. I just don’t see how ones face can be clean without a daily facial cleanser. 🙋🏻❤

    1. You know, I wondered, DiEtta, if the microfiber cloths that I had for cleaning the house were the same as these. I guess I should try it. Surprisingly, the microfiber without any cleanser gets my eyemakeup off as well or better than using the micellar water and gets my foundation off soooooo much better than micellar water followed by cleanser. If anything, I worry that my face is too clean lol. I’ve got a polka dot microfiber cloth in my laundry room that I’ve never used for anything, and I’ll try it on my face and see what happens. BTW, try yours without the cleanser. The whole point is the microfiber attracts dirt and oils on its own!

I use the face wipes from Costco to remove my make-up first. Then I use my face cleanser and microfiber cloth to wash my face. The face wipes from Costco (Kirkland Brand) do a really good job at getting all my make up off including my mascara. They do not burn my eyes either. 🙋🏻❤

        1. So you’re doing a double cleanse too! Humor me, and try your microfiber towel wet without using the face wipes or the cleanser and let me know how it does! With this microfiber towel, I don’t have to do any pre-step (and I didn’t with the other two brands, though the Glov brand microfiber didn’t do as good a job as FaceOff and the little red Makeup Eraser I think it was that I got in a BB5 sub box).

  6. I need to get one of these! This is perfect for removing makeup! I love that it is reusable for 3-4 months!

  7. I haven’t tried this or even heard of the brand yet. It looks like the cloth is nice and soft. I will definitely look this up. Thanks for telling us about them.

  9. I haven’t heard of this brand but i’ve tried similar versions and have been kinda “meh” about them. I’d love to try this out and see how it compares. I’m glad its working so well for you!

    1. I tried a microfiber cloth, Glov, recently and though very soft, it didn’t do nearly as good a job removing my makeup. I liked the mini Makeup Eraser I got in a subbie box, but it was tiny and red. The FaceOff cloth has won my heart: white, big and highly effective. I’m sold! It might be worthwhile for you to try some day.

  10. I have a mini (and they mean mini) makeup remover cloth from another brand and am amazed at how well it works–even for waterproof mascara! I could definitely use a full size.

    1. I have a tiny red one that I got in a BB5 box that may be a Makeup Eraser. I definitely prefer this big one and I like the white because I can see that I’m getting all my foundation off. It’s a keeper!

  11. I want this! I agree with you that Micellar Water is only good up to a point. I’m trying to cut back on my use of it and using cloths instead. This seems like a great alternative.

    1. The FaceOff cloth works so well for me. I’m loving it, and it is definitely working better lately than MW – is it possible to get “used to” MW so it stops working as well?

  12. Wow, that is impressive i will consider this in the future because I have to use makeup remover/cleanser/toner to pick up any residue from makeup myself!

    1. I think it’s a really good alternative to using all of those products and throwing away a lot of cotton rounds. I’m impressed with it!

  13. Omg I had no idea if anything like this exist. I am just so worried since i have acne prone skin this might not work for me. I have stopped using face cloths or towels in general. I just prefer to use paper towels, i kind of feel bad as it’s not great for environment.

    1. Ouch, paper towels sound kind of rough, but if it works for you Ketaki then that’s what you should probably stick with. One of the benefits for using the microfiber cloth in addition to having less to throw away is that cleanser isn’t necessary. But in your case, you may be reaping benefits from an oil-removing cleanser or a skin balancing cleanser. So maybe what you’re doing is the best for your particular skin! Thank you for stopping by and commenting xo

  14. This sounds really awesome! I’ve seen them around but I haven’t had the chance to pick one up yet. It seems very environmentally friendly. I wouldn’t be wasting at least 2 cotton rounds everyday!

    1. Yes, I use 3 cotton pads per night so I thought this would be more environmentally friendly. Plus there is no contest between how much cleaner my face gets using the FaceOff versus my double cleanse method. However, the FaceOff works so well that I feel like my skin could end up drier if I use it every night – I actually seem to get some moisturizing benefits from my moisturizing cleansers. I think I’ll probably alternate.
