You can never go wrong with gifting lip balms. Everyone needs them whether it’s in your holiday stocking or in your day-to-day life. With this winter’s weather predictions of major snowstorms, high winds, and bitter cold they’ve become a necessity. Or if you’re lucky enough to live in a warm and sunny place, you still need lip balm to protect your lips from UV rays and the sunshine.

MARCIA’S SUGGESTIONS: Yes To Lip Balms!
I have fallen for Yes To lipbalms, these new selections are just the thing. And since so many stores carry YES To you easily find these for last minute gifts.
The three I have work for everyone but if you have a specific need they cover that too. My favorite is the Hydrating Lip Balm in Watermelon. My favorite fruit is watermelon so it was easy to start using that one first. It’s very hydrating and has the yummiest scent. I like reapplying for those two reasons.
Next up is the Yes to Cucumber Soothing Lip Balm. My husband is always complaining about his dry lips so he’s absconded with this one. I often have to replace lip balms for him because our dog likes them too and can’t wait until one falls on the floor. Lucy doesn’t understand about using them over and over so she just gobbles a balm up. Happily she hasn’t gotten to this soothing cucumber one since my husband loves it.
Last of the three is the wonderful Avocado Nourishing Lip Balm. I didn’t let him use this because it’s exactly what I need since it’s not only fragrance free but it uses hyaluronic acid to hydrate.
If you have a Meijer store in your area, all three are available there. It’s easy to run into your local drugstore to see if they are smart enough to carry these wonderful balms.
ALLISON’S SUGGESTIONS: Rubber Ducky Lip Balms
Rubber Ducky is a brand of traditional, natural and organic lip balms and sunscreens that I’ve written about in the past (here and here). I received Vanilla the summer before last (reviewed here), and it was an absolutely yummy vanilla flavor! This time, I was sent Wild Cherry and Mountain Mint. The Wild Cherry smells wonderful, like wild cherry cough drops, lol. The cherry scent and flavor is apparent while I’m applying it, but they disappear within a few seconds. But the slippery protective balm is lightweight, yet long-wearing. In fact, I have started wearing Rubber Ducky SPF 44 Wild Cherry during the day underneath my lipstick (especially lipsticks that tend to be a bit drying to my sensitive lips), and it’s just perfect!
If you know me through the blog, you know that my lips can’t handle peppermint, so I haven’t tried any of the mint lip balms. Nevertheless, I assume that they are very similar to the Vanilla and Wild Cherry that I love.
Like the holiday lip balms, the SPF 44 Lip Balms are sold in different packs, but primarily 3-packs of one flavor for $8.00 or a 6-pack with 2 balms of each of the 3 flavors for $13.

I got it on Amazon. It has Argan Oil and it’s Lavender Vanilla flavored. I have this weird passion for lavender. I even like lavender ice cream. I’m strange.
Not at all, Gabrielle. I’d say you’re sophisticated! I like lavender too, and I grow it in the summer. I have tried cooking/baking with it, but alas that’s a bridge too far for me.
