For Me, Wearing A Mask Makes Lip Tint My Lipcolor of Choice

I’ve mentioned many times that the makeup product I love buying and wearing most is lipstick. Well, it’s a trying time for lipstick lovers like me. Wearing a mask either makes wearing lipstick unnecessary because many times no one sees it. Or wearing lipstick underneath a mask means lipstick stains all over the inside of the mask, ick. So for several months, I pretty much stopped wearing lipstick.

But a couple of weeks ago, as I was picking up a prescription at CVS, I noticed that the store seemed to be clearing out a K-Beauty display. I’m sad that the CVS shopper didn’t take to K-Beauty, but maybe it is just the K-Beauty display at CVS stores near me. The typical suburban Boston shopper never struck me as being on the cutting edge of cosmetics, so I guess I’m not surprised. At any rate, I perused the display to see if there were any bargains left. And yes, I came upon the last tube of red lip tint from the brand, Saemmul. It’s called The Saem Saemmul Lip Tint.

And it comes in three shades: red, pink and burgundy.

Saemmul Lip Tint is easy to apply with a sponge doe-foot applicator that applies the tint evenly. The lip tint is a juicy, buildable water-gel formula that sinks in and dries quickly. Here are photos of my lips with one swipe on top and two swipes below:

The formula has a hint of a sweet fruity flavor that disappears very quickly. And on my dry lips, this lip tint is somewhat hydrating. According to information from the brand, it contains vitamin E, marine collagen, and hydrating, nutrient-rich birch sap. I have been a fan of lip stains, but some of them dry out my lips. This tint doesn’t.

The color of the red lip tint is quite vivid. It’s a great shade of cherry red.

The best part about Saemmul Lip Tint is that it’s smudge-proof. I can’t wear most liquid matte lipsticks, so lip stain or lip tint is my BFF. Most importantly, it doesn’t stain the inside of whichever mask I happen to be wearing. Yay. That way, I can apply the lip tint, put on my mask and when I take off the mask, I will look like I am wearing lip color because I am. I feel more present or more visible if I’m wearing lipstick.

So Saemmul Lip Tint is accurately called a lip “tint” rather than a “stain”. As a tint, it doesn’t last through a meal that has oil or butter in it. However, it doesn’t come off on a glass or cup. It lasts for hours, though it does fade a bit over time.

Another benefit of Saemmul Lip Tint is the price. At CVS, the regular price for 0.32 fl. oz. is $4.49. It was supposed to be 75% off when I bought it, but the cashier made a mistake. Nevertheless, even at $4.49, Saemmul Lip Tint is an excellent lip color for these mask-wearing days. At CVS, it is sold only in stores, and hopefully, it is only being discontinued at CVS stores in my neck o’ the woods. You can also buy on Amazon where it’s selling for $7.96.

So if you’re looking for lip color that you can wear under your mask, till you take off your mask, without stains and smudges, consider affordable, non-drying The Saem Saemmul Lip Tint.

What a coincidence to read this. I am not much of a lip tint person but I just found an IT lip product in my stash (have to learn to stop my stash). It’s the Vitality lip flush in the shade Je Ne Sais Quoi which goes on clear and turns into a color that mimics your lip color with a little bit of pink. It feels so good. Because it is an IT product I probably paid over $20 for it. Your purchase was indeed much more affordable then mine. Will check CVS but unfortunately there is not one very close to me.

    1. I had the Je Ne Sais Quoi lipstick when I bought an IT TSV a while ago, and it’s such a pretty MLBB shade. I’m glad you found it! Isn’t it amazing to shop your stash and find all this good stuff you forgot you had? I think it you have the IT lip tint, you don’t need this one. But when I saw it at the CVS clearance and thought it was 75 cents, it was a must try. And I’m happy I bought it even though the cashier charged me more than 75 cents, lol.

  2. Nice to know it’s not too drying. I absolutely love the pink shade. I havne’t worn a lip stain in forever, but it does seem like the perfect thing to wear under a mask!

  3. I dont usually choose lip tints because of the drying issue too. Happy to hear that this one isn’t drying. I’ve still been wearing lipstick at home just for fun and swipe on gloss when I know it wont interfere with my mask

  4. That’s definitely a great idea– provided that the formula isn’t drying– during the pandemic!

  7. I feel you!!! I’m a lipstick junkie and it’s a sad time to be wearing lipstick. I filmed a video today showing the mishap of wearing lipstick with mask on. It looks like a stain would be a better option for me. I’ll give it a try

  8. Lip tints are co convenient and I love that they don’t smudge when rubbing against mask material. This color is beautiful on you, Allison!
