I’m laughing really hard right now. 😀 Can you hear me? I’m headed to the beach this afternoon because the weather is absolutely gorgeous for a change. But I’m going to the beach with a full face of makeup and false eyelashes, lol!
I needed to write this blogpost, and I needed the daylight for the photos so I couldn’t wait till tonight to do my makeup and take the pix.
It’s Red Coat Tuesday, and the theme today is — what else? — RED!
I’ve teamed up with fellow bloggers on a feature that Brigitte at ColorMeSoCrazy came up with, inspired by one of her favorite TV series, Pretty Little Liars. Now I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve never seen it, but anything that involves RED gets me interested. I’m an Aries with red hair, so anything with red, I’m there!
Today, I’m rockin red cheeks and red lips!
And for the first time EVAH, I applied false eyelashes to complete this glam look. It wasn’t as difficult to apply them as I expected it to be. (What was difficult was getting my eyeliner straight! I didn’t realize how unstraight it was till I saw the picture below. Oh well. Next time.)
I really like these Eylure Naturalite Lashes, and I think I will keep a pair around for my next evening out.
Because I was doing red cheeks and lips, I kept my eyes neutral and matte with IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Matte Palette, and I chose the quieter shades…though none of the shadows in that palette are bright.

Oh, my those lashes are the bomb! The lashes really open your eyes .. ok, now I’ve got to try my false lashes .. lol. Oh, yes, I have two pairs ( 1/2 lashes and a full set) .. I just haven’t tried them yet .. 😛

Right now my favourite red is Dior Mayday. I caved when I made my very considered purchase of Cruise and wound up with the red too. So much for “very considered” huh? Whoops. hahaha
Thanks, Rach! Both Dior Mayday and Cruise are gorgeous! I haven’t seen them in person but is Cruise an orange-red, or just an orange shade? It looks orange in the swatches I’ve seen online. I try to stay away from the Dior counter because their products are irresistible!

Cruise is the more sheer of the two (Mayday is pretty pigmented!) and I think that makes it a little deceptive, maybe. In the bullet and on my hand it looks mostly orange. On my lips it’s a fabulous coral, probably owing to that translucency. If you happen to find yourself near the very dangerous counter you should give it a try! I could tell from the very first use that it’s probably going to be my go-to summer colour. 🙂
It sounds lovely, Rach. I think a sheerer orange would be easier to take. I’m on the lookout for a sheepish orange lip crayon that I bought over the winter from Be A Bombshell. I put it away but don’t remember where. I definitely will give the Dior collection a glance, but it is dangerous to go too close. Enjoy them both!

Thanks, Nidia! I changed the red lipstick for pink, and put on my sunglasses. The lashes stayed on, no problem, but they were long enough that they hit the inside of my sunglass lenses, lol. I took them off when I went jogging ‘coz I thought running in false eyelashes was just wrong 😉
