Fountain of Youth for Skin: Magari Skincare Liquid Youth

Magari is Italian for “maybe”, “if only”, “I wish”, “I desire”. It’s actually a pretty cool word in Italian that can be used anywhere in a sentence, and to mean a number of “maybe” things. I certainly have lots of wishes,  desires, and maybes for my mature skin!

About 6 weeks ago, I was introduced to the new skincare brand, Magari. But before I talk to you about my experience with their new hero product, Liquid Youth, you must go to the website and check out the photo of the founders, Montgomery Nicholas and Noah Wright. They are insanely hot! They look like models, and their skin looks great, too – all of it, lol.

Montgomery Nicholas started out by learning as much as possible about the science of skincare. He also discovered that the highest quality ingredients, used correctly in combination with others, can do the most to prevent and reverse the effects of aging on skin. He started by using his family members as “guinea pigs” in addition to himself and partner, Noah Wright. He was surprised when friends started asking him to let them try the masks, moisturizers and serums that he had been using only on himself and family. Their friends were also delighted with the results. And seven years later, Magari Skincare was born.

Their first product, Liquid Youth, is the one that I have been using for almost 6 weeks. It comes in a luxe black bottle with gold accents, and it has a spray applicator. You know how I feel about sprays (this one is rather forceful), so I instantly started to pump two sprays onto my fingertips and that is more than enough to press into my entire face and neck.

It has no added or synthetic fragrance. But when I press some of the liquid into the fine lines above my lip, I can smell the faint scent of delightful tangerines or clementines that must come from the Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange peel oil) in the solution.

I use Magari Liquid Youth twice a day, morning and before bed. It can also be used to rehydrate skin and refresh makeup throughout the day, especially if you don’t mind spraying it on.

For me, Liquid Youth is an essence, an elixir that is the first skincare product that I apply to my skin after cleansing. It dries in less than a minute, and from that point, I continue with my morning or evening skincare routine.

Liquid Youth is rich in the moisture-binding, anti-aging ingredients I love:

  • hyaluronic acid
  • fatty acids
  • marine extracts
  • resveratrol
  • PCA (pyroglutamic acid): this one was new to me. A natural ingredient in our skin that decreases as we age. PCA and sodium PCA (the first ingredient in Liquid Youth) are humectants, ie little sponges, that increase the water content in the top layers of skin by drawing moisture from the environment.

Further, Liquid Youth combines peptides with potent antioxidants, ie vitamins C, E and biotin also known as vitamin H or B7, in order to boost the effects of the antioxidants in order to help stimulate the production of collagen. The antioxidants also neutralize the effects of environmental stressors while enhancing and evening out skin tone.

The end-benefit of using Magari Liquid Youth is realizing younger looking and feeling skin from:

  • increased hydration
  • more even, brighter and glowing skin tone
  • increased collagen and elastin
  • slowing down the formation of lines and wrinkles
  • softening existing wrinkles because of more plumped looking skin.

In fact, two key things I have noticed over the weeks while using Liquid Youth:

  • my skin feels more plumped and velvety
  • the expression lines between my brows are noticeably less evident, and that came as a huge surprise to me!

BTW, Magari Skincare also sells an obsidian facial roller that can be used on its own or in conjunction with Liquid Youth. I don’t have their roller, but I just found my quartz roller to use along with this lovely elixir for hopefully even better results as well as a nice face massage.

Check out Liquid Youth and the Luxury Obsidian Facial Roller on the Magari website.  Magari Liquid Youth comes in a very good sized bottle with 4 fl. oz./118 ml that will last me a loooooong time because so little goes a long way. Perfect for gifting the skincare aficionados on your gift list, both products are gender neutral.
