Fourth of July Sales on Beauty Products

I didn’t realize that Friday, July 3 was the official holiday this year, as in a day off from work for those who are working. Nice. I hope you have a fun but safe and healthy Fourth of July weekend, this strange year 2020.

We usually watch fireworks on July 3 and then go to the Beach Club at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester during the weekend of the 4th. But no fireworks this year, and I haven’t been to the Beach Club  at all so far this summer. It’s a small, turn of the 20th century, rustic building, and I honestly don’t know how social distancing would be possible there. Maybe at the end of the day on Sunday, if the weather is nice, we may go to Gloucester, park at the club, and go for a walk along the Backshore, an area that runs along the Atlantic Ocean. Otherwise, we’ll go for a bike ride or spend more time in the backyard.

But in spite of the difficulty of celebrating with friends and family this summer, Fourth of July sales are still going on for some brands and retailers. I have a feeling that the beauty industry as well as retailing in general are feeling the pinch big time. Who needs makeup when we mostly stay home, amirite? Skincare products are probably doing a little better than makeup, but I think 2020 has been a tough year all around.

I checked a few other brands that I like such as Urban Decay, Melt Cosmetics and ColourPop, but I didn’t see any particular holiday sales. I was hoping that a Japanese lip treatment from a brand called UZ that I’ve been wanting to try for months was on sale, but no dice. It seems to me that because of lackluster sales and trying to increase sales with sales throughout this weird year, only a few brands are doing across the board sales for July 4, and instead, they’re having percent off pricing on certain products or brands. Nevertheless, be sure to check if there is something you’ve been eager to buy. You may just be lucky.
