Next, the middle of the month is ipsy time for me. That’s when my monthly beauty subscription glam bag arrives in my mailbox. And I’m always excited about it. It’s like getting a present every month. For $10 a month including shipping, it’s worth it in terms of anticipation alone.
So what did I get in my May bag and what did I think about it?
Here’s a video of me opening the well-known metallic raspberry quilted bag, but without the focus on me. I spent a couple of hours in the garden and then went jogging, and I wasn’t video-worthy.
The theme for May is “Fresh Picks”, and the heavy cotton makeup bag with the green leaf print on a natural background is quite appropriate for spring that has finally arrived.
I received:
- Hang Ten 50 Natural Sunscreen from Coola
- Hey Girl Honey Peel-Off Exfoliating Mask
- Pur-Lisse Moisturizer for Normal Skin
- Balanced Anti-Frizz Hair Oil
- Pacifica Eyeshadow Duo.
For me, it was a good but not exceptional bag. I think the Pacifica eye shadow was a full size product, and maybe the Hair Oil that came in a small amber glass bottle with a glass dropper was too. The other items were deluxe size samples that will give me enough for several or even many uses.
Most of us, including me, get more excited about makeup than skincare or haircare items, I think. But with the exception of the Hair Oil that I may try to swap or I’ll add to a future giveaway bag on my blog, I will use all of the items. So, although less exciting than some other bags, it is certainly filled with usable items.

I just tried the Pacifica shadows, and I don’t love them. And the moisturizer was good but it smells awful. I guess this is just an off month for me, but I like the makeup bag itself 😉
I am more of a makeup person (obviously lol), so this bag wouldn’t have thrilled me.

I got my Ipsy bag today. I got everything that you did except for LA Fresh makeup wipes and the Too Faced bronzer. I would have liked the mask and hair oil more though. 😉
I got Ipsy for a year before I cancelled for 3 months. The last two bags made me subscribe again. I was tired of all the Be A Bombshell products I was getting. Although whatever one receives it is always a great value for just ten bucks.

The eyeshadow was a fun duochrome, but very lightly pigmented. I would have like the hair oil, but didn’t get it. I thought the bag itself was great this month – no smelly plastic!

I wore the eyeshadow on Friday, and frankly, it didn’t suit me. I was so disappointed because it was the only makeup item I received. I have a ton of hair oil so that will go into the giveaway pile. But I liked the cute cotton bag too!

I wasn’t too excited for this bag… and when it arrived… my hair curling thing spilled everywhere. I was able to salvage some things but not all but even if I wasn’t excited – I’m still looking forward to testing everything out.

I just got NeoCell and Beauty Bursts today. I took one of each immediately. The fruit flavor bursts are yummy. The texture and flavor reminds me of taffy. Thank you again for such a great giveaway. I am so happy to have won!
Laura, thanks so much for letting me know they arrived. I was thinking about it this evening. Read the instruction on the supplements: I think you take those 2 at a time, preferably on a empty stomach, e.g. 2 before breakfast and 2 before bed…or whatever suits you! I’m so glad you won, too. Let me know after a while whether they make any difference for you!
