Friday Find: Affordable, High Quality Masqueology Collagen Hydrogel Goldmask

Masqueology is a Korean sheet mask brand that I wrote about before Christmas. I recommended them as stocking stuffers or affordable small gifts. They’re available at Walmart, and at $2.50 a piece, they’re a really good deal. They have a pricier version sold at Dermstore.

I’ve come across another Masqueology mask that I wanted to tell you about. It’s Masqueology Collagen Hydrogel Goldmask. (I just had to photograph the gold mask on top of The New Yorker’s recent Oscars magazine cover!)

It’s the first two piece mask I’ve ever used. Like any sheet mask, you gently unfold it and place it on your face and it sticks. I actually think the two piece mask is easier to apply than a one piece. It gave me the same terrifyingly hideous look while wearing it as other sheet masks, but maybe not quite as bad because it’s transparent? No it’s still an awful look.

The mask itself is made out of a synthetic mesh, gel-like material that I truly prefer to a paper or fabric mask because it was so soft. It also stuck to my face quite well, especially since I wasn’t lying down. I was afraid it might slide off, but it stayed where it was supposed to.

Masqueology Collagen Hydrogel Goldmask felt so cooling and relaxing. Ideally, one should lie down and take it easy for the 20 minutes that it’s on. But I had a lot to do so I went about my business. After the 20 minutes was up, I removed the mask, discarded it and I left the remaining gel on my face. My skin felt very refreshed and looked brighter.

The mask was saturated with a full ounce of concentrated advanced ingredients. The key ingredients are:

  • hydrolyzed collagen: keeps skin supple, helps prevents wrinkles, hydrates and firms, improves elasticity and increases collagen production
  • niacinamide: one of my favorite ingredients to help reduce the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, prevents hyperpigmentation
  • adenosine: anti-inflammatory, penetrates deeply into skin to reduce wrinkles and repair skin damage
  • gold: detoxifies, improves and nourishes skin cells, stimulates collagen and elastin production.

Masqueology Collagen Hydrogel Goldmask was a real treat. It’s a mask I would be happy to use on a regular basis to see if I would get more of the longer term benefits. Have you tried any of the Masqueology masks yet?

Hi Allison, so happy to see NSDB in my email, yay! I went through a pretty lengthy mask phase and I have to say I do love me a nice face mask.Lately I’ve been using jar/tube masks that I rinse off but I think it’s high time I treat myself to such an affordable mask.I love the FHF sampler, they just smell so good and my skin definitely feels nice afterwards so another thank you to you for that post. This is a tight month so this is right up my alley 😉 . My new obsession is trying to find an eyebrow product that looks natural(I’m also a redhead)and will give me a slight arch.My brows are so light you can barely see them and all the products I’ve used I can’t consistently get right…any advice is appreciated.Have a great day!

    1. Thank you, Laura xoxo I haven’t used a sheet mask in a while myself. I had been using the FHF pudding appeal & avocado & pumpkin masks, The Body Shop Rose Mask, and The Body Shop fabulous Drops of Youth Liquid Peel, but I really enjoy this synthetic mesh cooling sheet mask from Masqueology for $2.50 at Walmart – it is definitely worth it. Gotta go to the store and pick up another, and I’ll lie down and relax next time. As far as eyebrow products, my favorite redhead brow pencil that actually matches my brows is from Mirabella but it costs about $20 and Tinted Brow Gel from Anastasia in Caramel also around $20 but worth picking up at Ulta or Sephora when they have coupon events. Wish I had a budget recco other than Beauty Junkees (I reviewed & swatched a couple of weeks ago) but tho’ BJ is affordable and very high quality their shade wasn’t a perfect match for me but maybe it is for you plus there’s a coupon code or I could get a new code if that’s expired. If the BJ looks like it would work for you, I’ll send it to you if you don’t mind that I used it once. LMK.

Thank you Allison,I would love to try the BJ brow product.I’ll email you my info again.I’ve heard so much about Anastasia brow products and when Sephora runs a sale I will be picking one up,of course I need to decide between Brow wiz and Dipbrow but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it lol. I’ve been using the FHF masks and a sample rose mask I got in one of my subs called Fresh Rose Mask and I really like it.I’m heading to Walmart Sunday and will be sure to pick this mask up.Thanks again! 🙂

        1. Laura, I was away for the weekend, but this week I’ll hunt for the brow gel. I had your address in an email you sent months ago, but somehow I lost all my emails prior to January and your address went missing along with everything else. The Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel is definitely worth looking at if you are a copper tone like me. The Fresh Rose Mask that you got sounds good to me! I love anything rose

  2. Yay! Welcome back, Allison, I missed you! I have never tried this brand but I do prefer one piece instead of two pieces because I get so clumsy trying to fit 2 together. This really sounds like a treat!

    1. Thank you, Shireen! My host still hasn’t moved everything over, but I figure what the heck, I’ll keep going anyway 🙂 I was really worried about the two piece as well. But I was surprised that I had no trouble getting it on and I’m usually a klutz. Then I was shocked that it stayed in place on my face as I ran around the house doing other things. I’m not sure what the benefit is of a two piece vs. a one piece or why they do it, but I was able to get it done without any problems thank goodness. Have a great weekend xoxo

Good morning Allison 🙋🏻☕☕🍩🍩 nothing better to have with my morning coffee NSDB! I love sheet masks. One of my favorites is by bioBELLE. They come in a variety box of 6. Called “My Diary Of Beauty Secrets” Botanic Fiber facial mask. 1each: Almond Oil & Vitamin E, Blueberries & Yogurt, Wild Rose & Vitamin C, Avocado & Collagen, Pomegranate & Hyaluronic Acid, Red Wine & Retinol. I got the variety box from HSN. They now offer each type in a 4 pack for $29.00. (I hope it’s alright to mention where I got them.) Also my must have eyebrow pencil is IT Cosmetics Brow Power Auto Perfector 5-in-1 Powder Gel Pencil (The Skinny One) it comes in 6 different colors. They offer the color Auburn for red heads. Everyone have a beautiful day. Don’t forget to give your “SMILE” to someone! 😁🌺

    1. I’m so happy to hear from you, DiEtta! Thank you! Definitely let me/us know when you find something terrific like the sheet masks you’ve been using from HSN. And Laura should take a look at the IT Cosmetics brow products too. I wish I had a budget brand to suggest to her (although she may find that Beauty Junkees brow gel is a match for her shade of red), but many of the drugstore brands don’t have a red/auburn shade. Hope you’re surviving the floods and hope the sun comes out for you in Cali. We’re off to NH to a friend’s ski house where the temps are supposed to be zero tomorrow!! Have a great weekend!

I just wanted to pipe in and say 1) I completely agree about reading NSDB with my coffee and 2)Thank you for the IT skinny brow pencil tip.I’ve tried the regular one and the auburn gel one but not the skinny and I liked their auburn but I felt when I looked closer it looked a bit smeared on and maybe the skinny tip would eliminate that.Thank you Dietta,I always enjoy your comments.Have a great day ladies! 🙂

  4. I think we all look funny with masks on and kudos for braving to put a pic of it but you look fabulous in your funny-ness, hehehe!!! This sounds wonderful. There really are a great number of masks for a good budget-friendly price point and this sound like one I need to go pick up!

  8. I found some leftover from my Walmart ones and put them in my pile of “to be used”. I’d like this two piece mask since they are more comfortable.

Good to know that it stuck to your face because I hate it when it slides down even when I’m not up. This sounds like a good sheet mask for me to try

    1. I liked the synthetic mesh material that this sheet mask was made for more than a paper or bamboo sheet mask. It really gripped my skin. I think you’d like it.

  10. I haven’t tried a two-piece sheet mask, but I can imagine it must be easier to use. I’m always struggling to open out the single-sheet masks without getting the serum all over the place.

    1. The clear synthetic mesh mask definitely made me look even funnier than usual, but I liked the material because it really clung well to my skin so I wasn’t stuck lying down for 20 minutes while I wore the mask.

  13. Yes, I love when masks are such a treat for the skin. Lately I’ve been dealing with a lot of breakouts… I haven’t had this issue since my early twenties when I was a smoker, so I’m not sure what’s going on with my skin… but I need a good mask to help with my impurities and really boost my skin luster.

    1. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I hope it clears up soon, Honey!

  14. I think I have seen that it at my local Walmart display…I have tried other face and eye masks by them in the past via Birchbox or TjMaxx!! 🙂

    1. I’m glad that you have tried this brand too, Ursual. I haven’t tried the expensive Masqueology masks from Sephora and Dermstore, but these affordable ones are fantastic. I really love the Goldmask the best of all their masks I’ve tried so far.
