Friday Find Part 2: Nourish Organic Body Butter & New Skin Solve

Last month, I reviewed Nourish Organic Body Lotion that I found in my stash. And I complained that it wasn’t hydrating enough for my very dry skin. The folks at Nourish Organic read my review, and they were kind enough to send me two products designed for very dry skin like mine for me to try out.

Skin-Softening Organic Body Butter

Nourish Organics Skin-Softening Organic Body Butter is a blend of whipped shea butter, concentrated coconut oil and olive oil and vitamin E. It’s a very rich, I’d call it heavy-duty, solid cream that has the thick consistency of whipped shea butter. I scoop it out of the pretty jar with my fingers and apply it to my skin. It sinks in right away. It’s not greasy, but it leaves the coating or coated feeling that whipped shea butter does.

I received Fresh Fig, and it is a lovely, very soft, almost indiscernible scent. I like it. It also comes in 3 other scents as well as Unscented. The jar, made from recycled materials, is decorated with beautiful drawings of figs and fig leaves. Very pretty.

The jar contains 3.6 oz., and it is the right size IMHO. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by huge tubs of shea butter, lol. The price is $9.99.

I like the Skin-Softening Organic Body Butter. Because to me this is a heavy-duty moisturizer, I’ll be using this most often during the winter when my skin is extra dry.

Ingredients: Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Organic Vanilla Planifolia Fruit infused Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Organic Fragrance*, Organic Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

Nourish Organic Body Butter and Skin Solve

Skin Solve

Skin Solve is a new product from Nourish Organics. They describe it as a “cream-to-oil all-over treatment”. It comes in a tube. Although it is made from many different oils, it squeezes out as a pale orange-yellow cream and turns to a dry oil when I rub it in. Because the cream is so thick, it requires a good strong hand to squeeze it out!

Here’s what else the company says about it:

  • “Improves skin’s appearance and texture with a quick-absorbing,
fast-acting blend of plant, fruit, and flower oils and butters
  • Anti-oxidant and aromatic Sweet Orange and Palmarosa smooth and soften; Shea, Coconut, and Pumpkin Butters nourish and soothe”

Skin Solve is a rich moisturizer like the Body Butter, but it gets absorbed by my skin quite easily. Although very hydrating too, it seems like a perfect product for now as well as for winter – perhaps because of the tube form.

The light orange scent from Sweet Orange and Rose Hip smells fabulous! I can smell it when I’m rubbing it in but then the scent dissipates.

New Skin Solve is a terrific moisturizer that can be used for body, face, hair or wherever that comes in a very intriguing product form. I’m enjoying using it. The tube contains 3 oz./85 g and is priced at $19.99.

Ingredients: Organic Shea Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Pumpkin Butter, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Cupuacu Butter, Organic Rose Hips Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil, Organic Soy Lecithin, Vitamin E, Organic Palmarosa Oil

Both products from Nourish Organic really meet my very dry skin needs, and they are pleasant to use. If your skin isn’t as dry as mine, try the Body Lotion. Most important, both products are certified USDA Organic. And what they don’t contain is very reassuring: no parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, artificial fragrances or preservatives silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan, EDTA or aluminum. Nourish Organic products are cruelty free, GMO free, and as they say, “concern free”. They are made in the U.S.

They are widely available in stores in the US including Target, Walgreens, Whole Foods, Wegman’s and many health food stores. They are also sold on the Nourish Organic website where you can always get a 10% discount by signing up for their newsletter. But right now on their website, they’re running a 20% off mix and match promotion on body butter, body wash, deodorant and more. It goes through July 31, 2015. Check it out!

Nourish Organic makes lots of different skincare and personal care products that you can buy in a variety of natural scent collections (or unscented) if you like, including deodorant, cleansers, body wash, facial skincare etc. So many more products for me to try! Have you tried any Nourish Organic products yet?

On a different topic – GIVEAWAYS, I am remiss – I forgot to announce Andrea D. as the winner of the StriVectin Repair & Protect Moisturizer SPF 30. Congrats to Andrea! And don’t forget to enter the giveaway that’s going on now: 6 shades of butterLONDON Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayons, ARV $120, enter here. It’s on through July 27.

    1. Wasn’t that amazing?! The fresh fig and the orange scents are both very like and very pleasant. Nourish Organic really is a wonderful and affordable organic brand!

    1. Monica, they’re having a 20% off promotion on the Nourish Organic website now through July 31 so it may be worth it to check out their website. I have also purchased Nourish Organic in Ulta in the past, but I don’t know if it’s still available there.

    1. It is a cool product, Nidia! It feels thick coming out of the tube, but it sinks right into my skin like an oil, and it doesn’t leave behind an oily feeling but a thin coating of a cream. And yes, I was floored when I heard from Nourish Organic after I wrote that review on a product I had purchased. The Body Lotion is a perfectly good product just not for dry-as-a-bone folks like me! I’m definitely better suited to their heavy-duty moisturizers like the Body Butter and Skin Solve.

  8. That skin solve sounds really nice, I think its interesting that you can use it anywhere. Also, fig is one of my favorite scents so I’d love to smell that body butter!

  9. I have Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream and I’m loving it. I have dark circles under my eyes and this eye cream is awesome. It’s very nice of the company to read and resend you something for dry skin. I’m also on a dryer skin type 😐

  10. How amazing of them to send you some of their stronger stuff, they both sound wonderful! I’m also plagued with dry skin, and the skin salve sounds so great for colder winter months up north!

    1. Yes, I was very lucky that the folks at Nourish Organic were good enough to read my first review on a product I bought and then send me two they thought were more appropriate for me! How nice is that! The Skin Salve is a very innovative product that would most likely be good for anyone with dry skin…plus you can use it on your face and hair as well, though I haven’t tried that yet 🙂

  13. I am curious about the fig scented body butter. I can’t imagine what they must smell like. I wouls really love to give it a little sniff.
    Tee recently posted…Nail SolutionMy Profile

    1. Nourish Organic may be carried at your local Walgreens so you might be able to sniff it there, Tee! Fig smells slightly different from brand to brand. This is a deep sweet scent that’s very soft and doesn’t linger after the body butter is applied. Estee Lauder uses fig as their signature scent but it’s a strong, longer lasting scent than this one.

  14. I like that it can be used all over.

  20. I’ve never been a fan of body butters because I don’t like how greasy they are, but the ones you got sound amazing!:)

    1. These are not “greasy”, Valerie, but they do leave your skin with a coated feeling. Since I have such dry skin, keeping the moisture in is a positive. You would probably do much better with their much lighter weight lotion 🙂

  21. I’m not crazy about a jar but I love me some orange scent.
