Liquid matte lipsticks may still be on trend, but with my dry lips, I’m always on the lookout for hydrating lipsticks. Revlon launched Ultra HD Gel LipColor with a “hydration boost of hyaluronic acid” a couple of months ago, and I’ve been eager to try it. I got some CVS Extrabucks and a discount coupon this week, so I picked one up.
There are 15 shades in attractive slim color-matched metallic-looking tubes to choose from.
It was a tough choice because so many of the shades were appealing to me: nudes, pinks, corals, reds, berry shades and a purple. I chose shade 725, Sunset, a pinky coral with neutral undertones that would look good on all skintones .
The LipColor goes on very smoothly with opacity in one or two swipes. Lipliner isn’t necessary because it makes a crisp edge. And it doesn’t bleed.
It feels great on my lips. It’s kind of like a lip balm but with strong, opaque color and no waxy feel. Mmmmmm.
I forgot to mention that it does have a fruity, melon-like scent that I can smell while I’m applying it. It fades after about a minute, but I can smell it initially on my lips.
It’s not a longwearing lipstick, but that’s fine because it’s not why I bought it. It stays on for a few hours if I don’t eat or drink. When it fades, it does leave some color behind so my lips don’t look bare.
If you have dry lips but you want serious color, check out Revlon Ultra HD Gel LipColor. The bullet itself is about an inch long (0.06 oz.), not huge, but it’ll last me long enough.
The price varies widely according to where you buy it, from a low of $7.49 at Harmon, $7.99 at Target, $8.99 at Ulta, to a whopping $10.49 at CVS. If I hadn’t had coupons for $5 off at CVS, I would’ve bought it elsewhere.
At any rate, I like this terrific drugstore hydrating lipstick. Have you tried it yet?
I was wondering about these when I first saw them but haven’t seen any reviews on them so thank you for this, Allison! Honestly I haven’t bought anything from Revlon since ages so might try this since it’s hydrating and I’m loving normal lipsticks again instead of the liquid ones.

I hadn’t bought anything from Revlon in ages either, Shireen, but when I saw that this had HA in it and it was a gel, I had to try it. Liquids lippies mostly don’t suit my dry lips, and this formula is definitely good for desert-dry lips like mine 🙂

Thank you, Laura! And coincidentally, I’m wearing Tarte Lip Sculptor today. Actually, it is my favorite. Reminds me of Too Faced La Creme but with the added extra of the gloss. Which shade did you get? I’m wearing Sass. But the Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Color really is a great affordable option. With the coupons and discounts that I got from CVS even with its inflated price, I paid around $5 for it, and I love the formula and the color. Worth putting on your “when there’s a coupon” list! This is a great shade for you. I always find that CVS is higher but then they make up for it with their coupons and beauty club. Do you notice the typical Revlon fragrance?

Oh heck, Marcia, I forgot to mention that. Yes, it has a similar scent to Milani’s, kind of a melon scent. I just went and put some more on, and it lasted for about a minute or less. I’ll add it. BTW, did the BST links email go out yet?
