Friday Find: Summer Nails from Milani

My nails are usually at their best in the summer, but this year, like the summer weather they were a little late. The fact that I was gardening like mad probably didn’t help. But all of a sudden, I noticed my nails were longer and they looked better. Time for nail polish!

Earlier this week, I went shopping in my nail polish drawer. I was looking for a summer shade that I hadn’t worn before. Three years ago, I was sent the complete Color Statement Nail Lacquer line from Milani. I still haven’t made my way through all of them!

I chose Bombshell, a bright bubblegum or Barbie pink cream.

Perfect for summer. I started with Seche Clear Base Coat, then a coat of Bombshell. This is terrific polish. Although it covers quite well in one coat, I did a second coat of Bombshell and finished with Zoya Amor Topcoat. Bombshell is so darn cute!

Then I spent two days for a total of 9 hours weeding my gardens and cutting back trees and shrubs. In spite of wearing my faux leather gardening gloves, I had a few chips on my right hand though my left and dominant hand was still perfect. Strange. Oh well, the work in my garden had to be done.

Not to give up, I went back to the drawing board or nail polish drawer, and I chose Imperial Purple, a gorgeous medium purple cream.

I’m not always a purple polish fan, but this one is so pretty. Why haven’t I used this great shade lately? Sadly, Imperial Purple seems to be discontinued. I better guard this bottle.

Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer line consists of 28 shades, mostly cream but including a sheer, a few shimmers and metallics and a Quick Dry Top Coat. Each bottle costs a mere $4. I think this nail polish is sooooooo worth it. It covers well, it dries quickly, and it wears as well as most other polishes. While the shades are mostly traditional, I think they’re beautiful and so wearable.

Have you tried Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer?

  5. I have a hard time finding nail polishes from Milani at the stores around me that carry them. My CVS did a clear out of them a few years back during the big sale they have each year and I was able to grab up one or two. I should try to find them in my stash and give them a try because I was a bad beauty blogger and didn’t when I bought them lol
