Gentle Glycolic for Your Skincare Routine: Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel

I had been trying to increase my usage of glycolic acid in my skincare routine by jumping from a cream with 5% glycolic acid to 10%. But my poor skin objected! Just too painful for my sensitive skin.

But a new way to use glycolic arrived on my doorstep several weeks ago: Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel. With its 6% NeoGlucosamine Formula, Exuviance says it provides “all the benefits of a peel without irritation”. They are absolutely, positively telling the truth! No irritation whatsoever!

The scientist/dermatologists behind Exuviance were the ones who originated the glycolic peel years ago, so this is their jam. Glycolic acid provides important skincare benefits especially for aging skin:

  • speeds up cell renewal
  • improves skin texture and tone
  • plumps the skin matrix to firm and tighten.

Because Exuviance is so gentle, I use it most nights often layered with other serums and topped by moisturizer. I am specifically working on fine lines at the top of my cheekbones that are new and disturbing wrinkles. They are beginning to fade and look less obvious, thank goodness.

Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel comes in a chic, silver jar with a unique pump dispenser. To get the clear gel peel out, just push down on both sides of the top of the container, and a small amount of gel comes out. Very easy.

I apply two pumps worth to my face. Wait 5 minutes till it dries completely and then I apply either another type of serum or my moisturizer.

It contains 50 ml/1.7 fl.oz. and is priced at $68. Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel is sold on the Exuviance website, at Ulta, at dermstore.com, beauty.com, and other retailers. Made in the U.S.

I like this serum/peel very much, and I recommend it. Also, check out one of my other favorite Exuviance products that I reviewed a while back, Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish. They truly are a dynamic duo!

Have you tried any skincare from Exuviance? If so, which product is your favorite?

  1. I only recently found out that Exuviance is a sister brand of NeoStrata which I truly love. I have been seeing really great review on Exuviance too but I have never tried anything from them but I also never tried glycol peel, or at least I don’t think I’ve ever tried it, may I know what it does for our skin?

    1. Yes, they are two brands owned by the same company, NeoStrata Skin. The benefits of glycolic acid peel are listed in the 3rd paragraph: “Glycolic acid provides important skincare benefits especially for aging skin:

      speeds up cell renewal
      improves skin texture and tone
plumps the skin matrix to firm and tighten.”

      It’s a fabulous product, Shireen!

  2. I’ve never tried this brand – I’m also a little overwhelmed with skincare stuff at the moment, haha. At least I know where to come back to if I’m ever in the market again.

    1. I know what you mean, Kat! But there are sooooooo many great skincare products out there. I discovered Exuviance and its sister brand, NeoStrata, via Brandbacker a couple of years ago, and I’m hooked. The founders were the dermatologist/scientists who “discovered” glycolic acid peels so they really know what they’re doing. Good stuff!

  3. This sounds lovely!

    1. Exuviance Non-acid Peel is a great way to do glycolic!

  4. This sounds really nice! I love masks and peels but my skin can be sensitive to them. I like how gentle this sounds.

    1. Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel really and truly is non-irritating, non-stinging, just plain gentle. I don’t even know I’m wearing it!

  5. Oh it’s a serum! I love that pump jar – seems very hygienic 🙂 I was expecting glycolic pads when I first saw the jar! I’m starting to slowly incorporate glycolic acid into my routine. My skin is pretty finicky though…I have to find the perfect combination.

    1. I know what you mean, Elaine, because I have a jar of GA pads from Radical Skincare that’s a bigger but round silver jar that looks very similar to the Exuviance packaging. It was a surprise to see this interesting pump. I have only a couple of other products that use the same design. Although this product is pricey (there’s 7% back via Ebates on the Exuviance site plus their intro things for signing up for emails etc), I think it’s a great glycolic product to start out with. I have sensitive skin and it took me a while to get used to 5% but making the leap to 10% was too much for me. This serum is so gentle, I don’t even know I’m wearing it

  6. Always love a good serum. Great packaging too!

  7. I’d really like to get into peels, but the thought of them being too harsh and making my face all red turns me away. If this one is good for sensitive skin like you say, then sign me up! My skin doesn’t seem to a fan of physical scrubs, so I think this would work out better for me. The packaging on this one looks cool, too! I like how you’re not sticking your fingers into a jar.

    1. This non-acid peel from Exuviance is a good one to start with, but you can probably wait a couple of years 😉

  8. I love that packaging. I’ve used products like that and always felt like it kept the integrity of the ingredients well sealed. I’ve never used a peel but this sounds gentle. I’ll have to remember this when beauty.com or dermstore has another 20% off sale.

    1. Exuviance, the sister brand to NeoStrata, really is worth trying someday. The researchers who started the company were the progenitors of the glycolic acid peel so this is their jam. Good stuff!

  12. I have loved the Exuviance products I’ve tried, but I really need to try their Glycolic peel – especially since they invented it! I like that it’s so gentle, you can just use it like a serum as part of your skincare routine.

  14. I must be going crazy because I feel like I commented on this post already, but I clearly didn’t haha 🙂 Anyhow, I am IN LOVE with this mask! It’s so gentle and I can really see it working after several weeks. Super happy with Exuviance products!

    1. LOL. If you haven’t gotten started with glycolic acid, this is the way to go. No irritation. The dermatologists who came up with the GA peel are the ones who started Exuviance and NeoStrata. Their skincare rocks and it’s sold at Ulta so I wait for the 20% off everything coupons and go wild 😉

  19. What a great review and can’t wait to try all the benefits without irritation in the future! 🙂
