Georgette Klinger 3X Makeup Remover

I Bought This, Affiliate Link

I’ve been using micellar water as my makeup remover for at least 5 years now, maybe even longer. But recently I found a bottle of Georgette Klinger 3X Makeup Remover that I bought a while ago. Although I have been a long time user and booster of all things Georgette Klinger, I had never used the 3X Makeup Remover and I didn’t really know anything about it when I bought it. I think I must have put it in my cart so that I would qualify for free shipping.

The first time I used it, I was surprised to discover that Georgette Klinger 3X Makeup Remover is a white lotion. I was expecting a clear liquid like micellar water or even like the Maybelline Eye Makeup Remover that I used for decades. It is a relatively viscous lotion that isn’t runny. It’s essentially a cleansing oil in lotion form.

Loaded with skincare ingredients, Georgette Klinger 3X Makeup Remover softens, nourishes and hydrates skin with completely removing makeup. I was surprised to see that the second ingredient is the skin nutrient squalane. After that three fruit oils –  olive oil, apricot oil and rosehip seed oil – are the next heavy hitters. The oils blend with makeup and liquify it so the makeup can be completely wiped away.

I either apply a small amount of 3X Makeup Remover with my finger or I put a few drops on a cotton pad. I find that it works most effectively if I leave it on my lashes for a few seconds to start to liquify before I start wiping it away. It is actually quite amazing that it does remove every bit of my makeup. And the other benefit is that it leaves my skin and my lashes feeling soft and nourished.

I would say that GK 3X Makeup Remover is right in-between a cleansing balm and a micellar water. I think it’s a little easier to use than a cleansing balm because it liquifies pretty much right away.

The pros of the product are:

  • how well it removes makeup
  • how soft and hydrates it leaves skin and lashes.

The only downside perhaps for some might be the consistency that is thicker than the micellar water that so many of us have gotten used to.

Georgette Klinger 3X Makeup Remover comes in two sizes:

  • 1.7 oz. for $10
  • 4.2 oz. for $18

I am probably going to switch to GK 3X Makeup Remover as my primary makeup remover once the cold weather really hits. The extra hydration will be a real plus for my dry skin.

Georgette Klinger 3X Makeup Remover is cruelty-free, fragrance-free, dye-free, and parabens-free.

What do you use for makeup removal? Micellar water? Cleansing balm? Old school makeup remover?

  1. This sounds like a lovely formula, Allison! The consistency actually sounds quite appealing to me. What a great list of ingredients, and I am also surprised to see Squalane as its second ingredient! I have plenty of makeup removers right now, but I will definitely consider this one when I run out!
