Getting Ready for the Beach with Coola Sport SPF 50 Sunscreen Spray

I have a brand of sunscreen that I reach for most of the time. I love the unscented as well as the scent choices, and I love the different forms that it comes in. But the SPF is a little lower than I’d like especially for afternoons when I know I’ll be spending all my time outdoors at the beach.

Enter Coola Sport Sunscreen Spray SPF 50. Boy, was I happy to receive this! I need SPF 50 for those long days spent outside. And for the beach, I prefer a spray to a lotion especially for reapplying once I’ve gotten wet or sandy. So much easier to put on than a lotion. The Coola has a completely clear spray that sprays easily and with ample force. It dries instantly.

Coola Sport Sunscreen Spray SPF 50 Guava Mango neversaydiebeauty.com @redAllison

The scent of the Coola Sport Sunscreen Spray is incredible – it’s guava mango and it smells fantastic!

If you’re looking for a high SPF sunscreen spray, Coola Sport Sunscreen Spray SPF 50 in the guava mango scent is definitely one to consider. It also comes in unscented as well as a few other scents and other SPF levels (15, 30). It’s a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen, it’s made with more than 70% organic ingredients, but so you know, this one uses effective chemical sunscreen ingredients (though they do have a mineral sunscreen collection). While some sunscreen sprays can dry out my skin, this one nourishes and hydrates my skin. Importantly, it is a top-rated sunscreen spray on the EWG (Environmental Working Group) list. It’s water resistant to 80 minutes. Plus it comes in two sizes:

  • the TSA-approved 3.4 fl. oz. size that I have, $24
  • a larger 8 fl. oz. size, $36.

Coola is sold at Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Dermstore, Nordstrom, Skinstore, and the Coola website where you can get 10% off and free shipping if you sign up for emails. It’s also sold in Canada. Check out the Coola website for more information about this and other Coola products.

Shireen, Coola has a Canadian company! I put the link to it toward the end of the post ? It is pricey but a terrific sunscreen ?????

  4. Rach says:

I have the setting spray! It too has chemical ingredients (which I’m happy with, since I’m really sensitive to zinc oxide) and I like it quite a bit. I mostly just use it to re-up my protection during the day though. 🙂

    1. I’ve just been hearing about the setting spray. I wish to heck I could spray myself in the face because it would make life so much easier!

  5. I have to admit, I sure love spray on sunscreen .. quick, easy, out the door 🙂

  7. I love a clear sunscreen, SOLD! And the high factor is a must for me.

    1. Absolutely clear and SPF 50. In addition to the great guava mango scent, they have unscented, a cucumber scent and maybe pina colada. Nice lineup of all kinds of sunscreens. I heard they have a new setting spray with SPF that everyone’s raving about.

  8. I love to spray my husband’s bald spot with sunscreen. It’s a great way to keep humor in a marriage — or maybe it’s not. I’ve used Coola before but didn’t know they had a spray.

    1. I do the same for Jeff, Marcia! I was surprised when I saw how extensive Coola’s sunscreen product line is. A number of the other bloggers mentioned a new Coola setting spray with SPF that they all love. I wish I could stand spraying myself in the face because that sounds great for summer

  11. Guava Mango sounds like a delicious scent! I love guavas, and I don’t think I’ve ever come across the fruit here in the U.S., so whenever I visit India (which is NOT often), I end up eating a year’s worth LOL #kidding.

    1. I think that one of the supermarkets near me has guavas from time to time because a lot of Brazilians shop there. I think the last time I had guava was when I was in Rio about 20 yrs ago!

  12. Oh, and I forgot to talk about the sunscreen. I love that it has a nozzle spray. I think this would be terrific for my toddler since he doesn’t like me applying sunscreen to him and wiggles his way out! 🙂

    1. Oh, you didn’t have to come back for that, Shipra! But I agree with you that sprays are so much easier to use on little ones who won’t stay still for a lotion!

  13. I go through sunscreen like crazy! I just bought 2 new bottles at TJ Maxx the other day, one of them was Tommy Bahama made by COOLA 🙂

  14. I prefer physical sunscreens with zinc and titanium dioxide for getting the sun damage at bay in the hot Texas sun. I do have one of that type from this brand that I like.
Stacie Hamilton recently posted…Summer Skin: How to Get a Sun-Kissed Glow without the RaysMy Profile

    1. I usually do too, Stacie, and Coola makes mineral sunscreens as well but I’m not sure if they’re sprays or if the mineral line is made up of lotions. The MyChelle spray that I reviewed two weeks ago is a mineral spray but that one is SPF 30 rather than 50. If I know I’m going to be outside for a long time, I go for the higher SPF.

  15. LOVE the sound of the fragrance to it–guava anything, yum! I also like that it’s a spray because I can’t stand creams in the summer.

    1. I can put on a sunscreen lotion if I’m at home, but once I’m at the beach or outdoors, it’s sprays for me too. This one really does smell fabulous!

  16. I’ve never heard of this brand, but it seem like they’ve got a lot of stuff to choose from!
Destany recently posted…Younique Lip Bonbons in Red Velvet Cake and Chocolate TruffleMy Profile

    1. You must not be subscribing to any subscription boxes, Destany! I was introduced to it a couple of years ago in several ipsy bags. Coola is now sold at Ulta too. They have a huge range of sunscreens, many with organic ingredients. They usually smell wonderful as does this one. Pricey, but great stuff.

  17. I am glad that you enjoyed using this brand and although I not its BIGGEST Fan I will use it because I am not a fan of sunburn/cancer! 🙂
