Giveaway: Dermabeam Pro Light Therapy Mask!!

Colored Light Skincare Therapy

Over the past several months, I have been discovering the wonderful world of colored light therapy. Skin rejuvenation through colored light treatments has been around since the late 1960s, and there are scientific studies that show its efficacy.

Light therapy has been shown to:

  • increase blood flow and circulation
  • reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • fade sunspots and hyperpigmentation
  • reduce acne
  • reduce redness and inflammation
  • improve skin elasticity
  • heal wounds and scars
  • stimulate collagen production.

I’ve taken to colored light therapy like a fish in a tank that’s been introduced to the ocean. It is a fabulous beauty tool to add to my regimen of skincare products, exercise and a healthy diet. In addition to seeing positive effects on my skin – smoother skin, more tautness at the jawline, it is unbelievably relaxing to use colored light therapy!

While skincare products tend to work on the surface and in the uppermost layers of skin, colored light therapy is able to penetrate the skin’s layers to work deeper down, even at the cellular level, to affect positive change. Different wavelengths of light can help with different skin issues.

Dermabeam Founder and Mission

Takashi Yanagi founded Dermabeam after his own successful experiences with red and infrared light to help heal his skin from severe acne and eczema. Dermabeam’s mission is to bring light therapy to the world. The company offers a variety of sleek light therapy devices for face and whole body to be used by professionals and consumers to promote healthier and more attractive skin that has the added benefit of helping the users feel more confident literally in “their own skin”.

Dermabeam Pro Light Therapy Mask

The Dermabeam Pro Light Therapy Mask is Dermabeam’s flagship product and best-seller.  It’s a cordless, rechargeable futuristic-looking mask that sits on the face via a pair of built-in eyeglass/goggles. The sleek white mask, constructed with  flexible and lightweight plastic, is comfortable to wear. It is dotted with 115 medical-grade LEDs that produce 7 different wavelengths of light to address different skin conditions:

  • RED stimulates collagen production
  • GREEN reduces oily skin & dark spots
  • BLUE kills acne causing bacteria

  • ORANGE reduces redness & irritation
  • WHITE fades hyperpigmentation & sunspots
  • PINK reduces wrinkles
  • PURPLE heals acne scars

You change the color of light with a touch sensor on one of the arms of the “glasses”.

Dermabeam recommends using the Dermabeam Pro mask every day for 3 months for 20 minutes. Using the time to relax or meditate is the best way to spend your light therapy masking time. Nevertheless, I found that I can see through the built-in goggles if I am watching something on TV. Although you can use it with clean, unadorned skin, for me, I wash my face and apply serum or serum and anti-aging cream. The colored light helps skincare products penetrate better for even better results.

Dermabeam Pro is non-invasive and completely painless. It’s the Dermabeam mask that I’ve been using for the past couple of months. I think I look kind of like one of the stormtroopers in Star Wars when I’m wearing it…

Or maybe a white Batman?

Dermabeam Pro is currently on sale for $279 instead of the regular $299 price. In addition, the Pro comes with a packet of Dermabeam Hydrasheets, a $50 value. Shipping is free. Check it out on the Dermabeam website.

The Pro Mask comes in a silky, white storage bag inside a sturdy box. It has a USB charger that easily attaches to the arm of the built-in “glasses” when it’s time to recharge the mask.

Dermabeam Light Therapy Mask

The Dermabeam company also offers Dermabeam, a smaller light therapy mask with 64 LEDs. It produces three colors: red, blue  and orange light. It is priced at $199. Check it out on the Dermabeam website.
