A few months ago, I wrote about a new high SPF sunscreen that I had received to try out from Exuviance. Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of moisturizers to try out but surprisingly none of them have sunscreen. So I was thrilled when I received this lightweight but high SPF sunscreen from Exuviance. Exuviance Sheer Daily Protector Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++ is available on the NeoStrata website (where Ebates is offering 15% cash back right now – you can get a free Ebates account if you don’t already have one in the sidebar of my homepage), at Ulta, paulaschoice.com, dermstore.com, lovelyskin.com among other retailers. It’s priced around $42 for 1.7 oz. A little goes a long way.
When we got back from vacation, I was surprised to find a gift from Exuviance: a bottle of Exuviance Sheer Daily Protector Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++. Since I still have a lot in the bottle I own, I’m giving away the new bottle. Just in time for spring and summer!
BTW, in case you wondered (I know I did) about what PA++++ means, I’ll fill you in. Just as SPF (sun protection factor) indicates the level of protection from UVB rays, PA is a Japanese/Korean rating system, signifying Protection Grade UVA that indicates the level of protection from UVA rays. This protection ranking system is based on the Persistent Pigment Darkening (PPD) reaction reading at 2-4 hours of sun exposure. The more + signs, the more protection from UVA rays. So, we can interpret the Exuviance Sunscreen rating of SPF 50 PA++++ to be a high level of protection. Just what we need for summer!

I live in a tropical climate where the sun exposure is intense year round. Sunscreen is vital to our skin care.

I love that this sunscreen has so much UVA protection AND is sheer/lightweight. In the summertime, I need a sunscreen for my face is light enough to not clog my pores, yet still offer great sun protection. Sounds like this is an excellent option!!

I NEED this because I’m using a retinol face cream for my acne and I live in Arizona. I have some SPF now but it’s not as good as this one because no money left after the cream. 🙁

I can’t be outside without sunscreen. I burn very easily but more important I don’t want the aging that the sun gives. And I know what an excellent brand exuviance is.

I am a landscape designer, installer, and maintainer. I spend LOTS of time in the sun, and always use sunscreen in addition to wearing a hat and protecting other exposed skin. I love other Exuviance products and would enthusiastically give this one a try!

Hi Allison, I live in southwestern Pennsylvania. I have been using sunscreen a long time, and recently had to switch to mineral-based ones due to skin rashes. Sigh, I miss my Coppertone Sport spray…last year and this year, I am using Cerave sunscreen lotion with Invisazinc(tm) for body and its companion product for face. It really works well! I have been known to use the Cerave Baby sunscreen lotion too if my local Walgreens is out of stock of the ‘adult’ Cerave sunscreen.
When I was a kid, we lived in Elkins Park outside of Philly but that was a long time ago. I really like the sport sprays for my body especially when I’m jogging, but I feel more comfortable with physical sunscreen ingredients rather than chemical when possible. I haven’t tried anything from Cerave yet, shame on me. I’ll take a look. I’m a fan of MyChelle sunscreens that you can get at Whole Foods. They’re physical sunscreens and there are some for face and some for body. But this Exuviance Sheer Sunscreen SPF 50 can’t be beat for the face. Fingers crossed for you, Jackie!

This, glo minerals, tatcha and paula’s choice have been some of my go-tos for SPF. I love my Tatcha… but find that this works so well too and I use sunscreen every day so it’s well worth the investment.

Exuviance really is an impressive skincare brand. The two docs who started NeoStrata were the ones who “discovered” glycolic acid benefits in skincare.

At my age I am always looking for a great sunscreen to protect my skin. Especially finding one that is light enough for my facial skin.
This one from Exuviance is “skin-tone”, Julie. When I first looked at it, I thought it would be too dark for my skin but it sinks right in and doesn’t leave any color behind. Ive tried a million and one sunscreens and havent found one that doesnt make me break out yet and I work outdoors.
