Back in September, I reviewed the new MyChelle Lip Hints that I received in a lovely Sheer shade (reviewed here).
Since then, MyChelle came out with three lip “tints”: conditioning lip balms with a hint of subtle color:
- Nude
- Berry
- Plum.
They are perfect for the colder weather season when so many of us have dry lips. And they have lovely outer-packaging, so they make a sweet gift. The little glass pots inside the boxes are adorable and, I think, luxurious!
MyChelle is one of my favorite natural skincare brands that lovingly crafts their products from natural and organic ingredients. In fact, the Conditioning Lip Balm Lip Hints are made with pure plant oils and waxes, essential oils, and natural extracts. They are also made without Phthalates, Parabens, Sulfates, Silicones, Ureas, Artifical Fragrances and Colors, Petroleum, GMOs, and Gluten. FD&C Dye Free Color. Importantly, they are cruelty-free as well.
Each little MyChelle Lip Hints pot contains 5 g/0.2 oz., and is the perfect size to carry in your makeup bag or pop into a pocket. The outer packaging measures about 1.5 inches x 2.5 inches, so they are perfect stocking stuffers!

I am one of those few unlucky people in a small minority who are not able to use mint oil on their lips. MyChelle Lip Hints do contain a little natural spearmint oil, a common ingredient in natural lip balms. I discovered that after I sampled both the Sheer and Nude. I love the idea of tinted lip balm because I so often need it when I’m wearing makeup and I think I look better with a touch of color on my lips with makeup on my face. I would be curious as to whether these stain your fingers when you use them but perhaps that’s a question for the winner since you aren’t able to enjoy them. That stinks about mint oils. I am obsessed with peppermint and spearmint oils right now – especially using peppermint to help with coughing I had recently!

I wish I knew the answer for sure about whether the Berry and Plum shades of MyChelle Lip Hints leave a stain on the fingers, but my guess is that they don’t. I think they provide a hint of color rather than being a lip stain. My problem with spearmint and peppermint is a real pain (literally) – it actually burns my lips or skin – so it’s not worth it for me, and more products than you’d think use it. Oh well. I use lip balm several times a day. I have a tinted one that I like, but would love to try the MyChelle line.
It’s winter so my lips are so dry! I’m not a fan of chapstick as they don’t add any color to my lips and I don’t like the ingredients. MyChelle is a new brand to me and sounds like a solution to my dryness.
I like that the colors are ones that flatter any skin tone and any age.

Oh dear. I’m glad you entered, Eileen. But let me recommend Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm or Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm – they’re both the same: medical grade lanolin. To be honest, Dr. Lipp is the only thing that works on my very dry lips. I just bought a new tube on Amazon for $12.50 and it lasts about 6 months or so.
I’m a collector of lip balm and I love trying ones that I’ve never before. I would really love this prize!
