Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum

Vitamin C serums are among my favorites for brightening my skin and continuing to try to fade my dark spots. But somehow, I had gotten away from them over the past several months. I was very excited to receive Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum several weeks ago to try out.

Reviva Labs Ultra Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum with EMBLICA neversaydiebeauty.com @redAllison

Now that Spring is officially here and I’m spending more time outdoors, Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum arrived at just the right time. It provides comprehensive broad-spectrum protection against the widest range of free radicals including the nitrogen-based free radicals that pollution makes. I wish I had had this when I lived in New York City! You definitely want to use Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Anitoxidant Serum during the daytime under moisturizer or sunscreen because that’s when it does some of its key work. I was surprised to find out that even sunscreen, that focuses on oxygen free radicals created by the sun, doesn’t provide protection against free radicals from nitrogen pollution. When I jog, I often jog along one of the major roads in my town and there’s a lot of soot and particulates that come from traffic exhaust. I’m glad to know that Reviva Labs Vitamin C+ Serum with EMBLICA is helping protect my skin from that kind of free radicals as well as those from the sun. Free radicals damage skin and make it look older. Glad to have a new weapon against free radicals in my arsenal!

The Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum is made with vitamin C ester or magnesium ascorbic phosphate that is more protective of the skin cell than regular vitamin C because it is fat soluble rather than just water soluble, protecting the fatty skin cell wall as well as the interior of the cell.

And the serum is made with a number of important ingredients in addition to vitamin C. It contains:

  • EMBLICA: derived from the Indian Gooseberry plant, it neutralizes pollution’s nitrogen free radicals; also fights skin discoloration, wrinkles and collagen loss (I certainly need help with those issues as well)
  • Vitamin E and COQ10 to neutralize oxygen free radicals
  • Hyaluronic Acid: my favorite ingredient to help skin maintain moisture
  • Retinyl Palmitate and Allantoin: to smooth skin.

Importantly, Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum comes in an airless pump. Vitamin C in high doses can become unstable and lose potency if it’s exposed to air. Often vitamin C serums that I used in the past come with a dropper. I had no idea that each time I opened the bottle to remove the dropper, I was degrading the ingredients! Reviva Labs airless pump protects the ingredients and the serum from air, light and bacteria so it can work as well as possible.

Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum with EMBLICA is a lightweight but hydrating cream. I use it primarily during the day to protect against broad-spectrum free radicals, though I sometimes use it at night to repair my skin. I wear it as a serum under my moisturizer, but in the summer, I may wear it with sunscreen because it feels so hydrating even on its own. It’s an off-white, scent-free cream that disappears quickly into my skin helping it feel smooth, hydrated and protected. It’s created to work with all skin types including sensitive skin and skin with blemishes. And it’s gender-neutral. Men can certainly use it as well.

The bottle of Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum with EMBLICA contains 1 fl. oz./29.5 ml. It’s priced at $32. It’s made in the U.S. and it is cruelty-free. It can be purchased on the Reviva Labs website, but it’s sold at Ulta, Whole Foods, lots and lots of natural food stores, jet.com, vitacost.com, among other retailers.

I’m starting to see a bunch of skin discoloration and I’m hoping this can help.

    1. Yes, me too, Ann! Plus I’m hoping it’ll give me added daytime protection against new discoloration. Thanks for being number 1 to enter! Good luck 🙂

  2. Laura Sorvillo says:

I try very hard(and mostly succeed)to keep a Vitamin C serum and Hyaluronic acid one around.Ideally, like this one, they are in the same product.Having your endorsement makes this one stand out for me and I will now look and see what products they have. Thanks for the giveaway, you’re a doll.Quick question,do you know if it’s true that if you use a Tinkle Razor for the face first your serum will work better?

    1. I haven’t tried a Tinkle Razor, Laura, so I don’t know. I think if you exfoliate regularly and use a toner or an essence, they help serums go deeper into the skin and work better. There was an interesting article that I found on FB and posted on my Never Say Die Beauty Facebook page yesterday about skincare products that work deeper into the skin layers. It mentioned that marula oil is a get vehicle to help other skincare products get in. Here’s the link: http://www.refinery29.com/delivery-system-skin-care-application#slide
Thanks for entering the giveaway, Laura, and good luck!

      1. Laura Sorvillo says:

Thanks Allison! Heading over to read it now 🙂

        1. I hope you find it useful, Laura!

  3. This sounds seriously lovely, Allison and like you I had no idea that Vit C products degrades each time it’s exposed to air! All my Vit C serums in the past came in a dropper bottle too. :-/ Btw, do you have a good recommendation for a drugstore Vit C serum? I’m looking for one.

ps: Welcome back and I hope you had a brilliant birthday celebration!

    1. I have never used a vitamin C serum that I actually purchased in the drugstore, Shireen, because I’ve been sent so many to try out!! However, I have tried a number of them including the Reviva Labs Ultra-Potency Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum that are affordable (though because of the EMBLICA ingredient, this one is a tad more expensive) but Reviva Labs brand is sold through iherb.com, vitacost.com etc. I have used affordable Kleem Vitamin C Serum, and it comes in a protective airless pump & I believe it’s sold on Amazon. Foxbrim, also sold on Amazon, may have one that’s in a pump. I’ve used others that I liked too but they have droppers.

  4. Annamarie V says:
