Glowing, Hydrated Skin with Farmhouse Fresh Citrus Cilantro Body Oil

Oils are so popular these days. There are different oils for every single thing. I like oils. In fact, I’ve tried a number of after-shower body oils. They usually smell lovely. But I’ve found that with my super dry skin, the oil doesn’t provide lasting hydration. At first, it seems to hydrate well, but over a period of a few hours, my skin looks and feels dry again.

Enter Farmhouse Fresh. A few months ago, I discovered Farmhouse Fresh, a skincare brand that makes beautiful products made from a high percentage of natural and organic ingredients. I’ve reviewed two of their facial masks (Pudding Apeal Mask, Peat Perfection Purification Mask), Marshmallow Melt Body Balm, and Marshmallow Melt Shea Butter Hand Cream, and I love ’em all! Now, I’ve had a chance to try Citrus Cilantro Body Oil.

Farmhouse Fresh Citrus Cilantro Body Oil

In all honesty, when I look at the attractive glass pump bottle, Citrus Cilantro Body Oil reminds me of an oil that I might buy in Williams-Sonoma to put on my fresh salad. It has a pale green color, and the citrus cilantro scent is not quite herbal-y, but in a good way. It actually has a light, fresh scent that you can smell when applying and for a few minutes afterwards. If I shower and apply it to my skin instead of body lotion, it will give me a lightweight, fresh,  floral/citrusy scent for a little while. But it does fade. So most of the time, I apply it after my shower, wait several minutes, and then apply my perfume. I asked my cousin’s girlfriend if she wanted to try it, and she said no because of the cilantro in the name. But I got her to smell it, and she changed her mind. The scent is lovely.

The body oil is 96% natural. It’s vegan and gluten-free. Its key ingredients are orange peel, grape seed, olive fruit, sunflower, jojoba and apricot kernel oils. That’s another reason why it reminds me of something from Williams-Sonoma, almost yummy ingredients!

The oil itself is lightweight. A little oil goes a long way. Applied with a pump, Citrus Cilantro Body Oil sinks right into my skin and leaves my skin feeling moisturized with a glistening sheen that’s not at all greasy. The reason that my skin still feels hydrated hours after application is that the botanical oils in the formula – soybean, jojoba, sunflower, and apricot kernel oils – are natural moisturizers that actually help skin retain moisture. Serious hydrators – shea butter, cocoa seed butter and vitamin E – make my skin feel better and look healthier and plumper. Antioxidant rich grape seed and olive fruit oils help protect against sun damage and also help skin synthesize collagen and elastin for an improved texture.

    1. I noticed the scent you have and Clementine online. Citrus Cilantro is new for summer 2016, but it’ll be great year round

  2. FHF can do no wrong! I haven’t tried their latest oils (no time for any more beauty product testing right now), but everything else from them has been spectacular, especially the hand creams.

    1. Yes, body oil is wonderful. I always liked Skin So Soft – the scent was so pretty!

  6. My first reaction to this was Cilantro? I was reluctant to try it but my mind was changed quickly. The Quincyberry Oil is heavier than this one so they make a great body oil wardrobe. I love how they make me feel and smell.

    1. I can’t believe it, Marcia. You can use these scented oils? I’m so glad. I haven’t tried the Quincyberry or Clementine oils yet, but I just love how this oil lasts all day on my skin (altho the scent doesn’t). I put this one this morning, and at almost midnight, my skin is still soft!

  7. I love the ingredients that they used to make this oil! The fragrance sounds nice too.

  9. I just washed off their Peat Perfection Mask! I didn’t know if I would like the scent of this (I hate cilantro) but it’s so fresh and clean.

    1. Yes, although I do like cilantro in my cooking, I don’t want to wear it, but this doesn’t smell like either citrus or cilantro to me. It just smells a bit herbal-y and nice. I need to do the Peat Perfection Mask tonight

  10. I generally don’t use body oils but this blend sounds amazinggg

    1. I haven’t had good luck with some body oils because they’re greasy and the hydration doesn’t last on me, but the Citrus Cilantro Body Oil from Farmhouse Fresh is completely different: long-lasting moisture, no greasiness at all, and the scent tho lovely doesn’t last to interfere with my perfume. Love it

  11. Oh man, I love this body oil. It’s so fresh and hydrating and… Yeah. I’m a huge fan. I want to try the Quinseyberry scent, as well. Going into Fall, Mama needs something sweet! 😉
