I’ve been making my way through the set of mini polish bottles in Olive & June’s Summer Mini Set 2021 (now renamed the Gifting Minis Set). I love minis, they are the perfect size. I wish all polishes came in mini versions, but alas, this set from Summer 2021 is O&J’s only set of minis that I’m aware of.
When the Summer Mini Set arrived a couple of months ago, I didn’t realize that it was missing the bright purple shade, Grape Soda. By the time I realized it, more than a month had gone by. But fortunately, Olive & June sent me the missing shade even though it was after the 30 day window. I’m glad they did!
Grape Soda looked kind of streaky after the first coat. After two coats, it was almost opaque but the shade look more pink than purple.
Adding a third coat the next day made all the difference. The color is bright, fun, optimistic, and purple. O&J describes it as having a “nearly neon” finish. It really does make me happy just like grape soda used to when I was a kid.
I had Grape Soda on my nails when I went for a two hour and 15 minute hike in the woods on Monday afternoon. I had to climb quite a few boulders and hold onto a lot of trees. When I got home, I noticed I had one small chip on my index finger. I don’t usually get any chips for at least 5-7 days, but this truly was a torture test. I applied another coat to that nail and another coat of the ultra shiny Topcoat to all of my nails, and the nail looks fine. Yay!
