Gratiae Exfoliating Body Scrub: Pure Luxury

A few weeks ago, I received Gratiae Exfoliating Body Scrub to try out via my association with Tomoson.com. Upon opening the box, I realized that this product was something special. The body scrub was beautifully wrapped in cream-colored branded wrapping paper. That reminded me of fancy apples or pears that are wrapped with paper to protect them.

Also included in the box was a small biodegradable Gratiae tote bag and a beautiful brochure written in five languages with photos and descriptions of the extensive Gratiae line of organic anti-aging skincare and body care products.

Everything is gorgeously designed, and their colors – cream and gold – are used throughout. Gratiae’s tagline is “Created by Nature. Perfected by Science”. Nice, the best of both worlds!

The lovely packaging looks like glass, but fortunately, it’s a shower-friendly heavy plastic that looks like glass.

Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub

I opened the lining that protects the scrub, and found fragrant exfoliating crystals.

Gratiae-scrub-crystals

It seems that every scrub I try is different. One scrub sat in a liquid, another one was almost clay-like. Gratiae is made up of loose crystals. I discovered that Gratiae is made by Premier Dead Sea. I love products made with ingredients from the Dead Sea so I’m hoping that either the salt in the scrub or their expertise is from the Dead Sea.

As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, this is one high-end product! So I was a little bit surprised that it didn’t come with a small scoop to scoop out the crystals. Instead, I had to use my wet fingers to scoop out the crystals. Not a big deal, but just thought I’d mention it.

Exfoliating Scrub

Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub’s scent is lovely and light. It is made with apple, green tea and ginger, but it smells like melon to me.

Gratiae describes their product as follows: “This refreshing salt scrub exfoliates and cleanses the skin, leaving you feeling invigorated and revitalized. It accelerates blood circulation and leaves your skin refreshed and soft.”

What really amazed me about Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub is that in spite of its dry crystals, my skin is left baby soft and smooth and intensely hydrated. Checking the ingredient list, I assume that each crystal must be made up of sweet almond and jojoba oil in addition to the salt. After showering, I usually have to apply lotion or body butter…but not when I use Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub. I don’t have to use lotion at all, if I don’t want to. My skin is hydrated!

Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub contains 10.5 fl. oz./450 ml. Gratiae products are cruelty-free  and eco-friendly. They are made with certified organic ingredients. Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub is sold on the Gratiae website.

Ingredients: salt, sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, fragrance, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, citric acid

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

It sounds lovely (which is a word not often associated with a body scrub)! Thank you for trying and reviewing these products for us. I have bought items quite a few times after reading your reviews!

    1. Thank you, Lois! When I opened the box and saw how beautiful this product was, I was blown away. It looked so luxurious. I initially thought it might be drying since it contains dry crystals but not at all. The jojoba and sweet almond oil must be infused in each crystal. Very nice especially for winter.

  2. This scrub sounds lovely. I love using scrubs, especially during the winter. It’s nice that this one also hydrates.

    1. Brianna, it’s “rougher” when I first put it on but it melts as I rub it and it’s not at all scratchy. The hydration it provides amazed me because I didn’t expect it.

  6. You had me at “scrub” 🙂

    1. Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub is pretty perfect except for the scoop that I wish they included to scoop up the loose crystals. But otherwise, I love it!

  18. This sounds like such a nice scrub

    1. Gratiae Exfoliating Scrub has everything I’m looking for in a scrub except for a scoop!

    1. Thankfully, the exfoliating scrub works well so it’s not just pretty packaging…though it looks nice in my bathroom 🙂

  19. I absolutely love the packaging on this – it’s really pretty. It sounds like a nice scrub… I just hate dipping into jars for body scrubs though the mass majority of them are that way – so I just have to deal with it.

    1. The packaging is lovely, and it looks so nice in the bathroom. I agree about dipping into the jar. And this one has loose crystals, so I really need a scoop. I need to find a coffee scoop to leave in the jar of this scrub.

  20. I was fortunate to review this as well. I loved the packaging, and the subtle scent. I, too, was thrown by the loose crystals and how to dispense them. They do work pretty well, though!

    1. Yes, I remember you reviewed it a couple of weeks ago. I think they should have included a little scoop. But with my dry skin, this is the best scrub I’ve found so far that also doesn’t leave my shower a slippery mess. 🙂

  21. This sounds amazing!! I would buy it based on the excellent packaging alone!!!!

    1. The packaging is really eye-catching, and it looks nice in my bathroom 🙂

  22. I have several of their products and overall like them

    1. I wasn’t aware of Gratiae before this. I really do love the scrub (just wish it had a scoop). I would love to try some of the others.

  23. The packaging is so elegant and beautiful.

    1. Because of the packaging, it looks so nice in my bathroom. 😉
