Happy Thanksgiving and Thank You

Happy Thanksgiving

2020 has been a doozy of a year, and often it is difficult to find things to be thankful for. Loved ones and friends have been sick, some have died, many are in reduced circumstances. When I really think about it, I have lots to be thankful for. And I hope you are able to feel that you do it.

I’d like to thank all of you who subscribe to Never Say Die Beauty and/or read it from time to time. Honestly, having NSDB this year and especially this coming winter will help keep me sane while stuck mostly in the house. Thank you for your comments. I love hearing from you! I feel like I have made a number of friends through the blog, and I am very grateful for that.

Also, thank you to those of you who have made purchases through my links to items on Amazon, City Beauty, and other brands and retailers. I really appreciate it. Though I will never get rich through NSDB or even make a living from it, the small percentage that I receive as a result of your purchases adds up and helps defray some of the expenses of running the blog. xoxo

This is a tough Thanksgiving holiday, nevertheless, for many people who may be on their own or with a vastly reduced group of celebrants. But hopefully if we reduce the size of our celebrations this year, we’ll all be around to celebrate in style next year. We can only hope that it will be true.

Jeff and I will have our 8.75 pound turkey together tomorrow afternoon. 8.75 lbs was the smallest one I could find! I am trying Ina Garten’s somewhat unusual method of salting and herbing the turkey a couple of days ahead and wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap, then unwrapping it the day before and leaving it uncovered in the fridge for the skin to turn translucent and dry out a bit. It’s supposed to make for a juicy bird with crispy skin. We’ll see. I thought leaving it uncovered in the refrigerator is kind of weird, but what the heck, this is the year to try it when there’s only Jeff and me to eat it. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

I hope however you are marking this year’s Thanksgiving, you have a peaceful and pleasant day!

    1. Thank you so much, Cassie xoxo I hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving. I hope your MIL has been helpful and more pleasant than usual. I am so happy to have gotten to know you via our blogging group. You are amazing, dealing with your husband’s illness, being stuck with your MIL, and completing your first year in at Lawrence Livermore! You should be proud at all you are accomplishing! I’m glad you’re back blogging for now (I know it’s hard to blog all the time with everything you’ve got going on) because I get a window into what’s going on with you and yours. Hugs right back at you, and my best wishes to you for a peaceful holiday season!

Hope you are having a marvelous Thanksgiving! I am celebrating alone, but thankfully Trader Joe’s makes a turkey en croute that is small enough for one with a manageable amount left over.

    1. Thank you, Gabrielle. I was lucky to have Jeff to celebrate Thanksgiving with. I am sad that you were on your own this year. So many people were. Not fun. The turkey en croute from TJs sounds delicious. I haven’t been to TJs since last February. The tiny TJs a couple of towns away always had a line of people waiting to get in, so I have given up on them for now. Is the turkey en croute just a holiday thing? I would like to try it! BTW, I wore your Seraphine palette shades yesterday, and it was lovely. Definitely my colors! The shades were easy to blend and they stayed put till I took them off around midnight.

I am tickled plaid to know that the shadows worked so well for you! Yay! Precisely my hope when I sent them. And thank you again for your generosity to me! I love the tetris palette and that spray is wonderful!
