Haus Laboratories Eye-Dentify Gel Eyeliner and Cream Shadow

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

A couple of weeks ago, I gave you my thoughts on the Haus Laboratories Le Riot Lipgloss shades that I bought during their anniversary sale. As I said, I thought they were good quality because they were lightweight and non-sticky, but unless you’re a fan of translucent glosses (and I am not), then they’re not for you. I will stick with my opaque Anastasia Beverly Hills Caramel lipgloss.

But when I made that purchase, I also picked up two eye makeup products to try.

Haus Laboratories Eye-Dentify Gel Eyeliner

I was in the mood for a change from my usual gray eyeliner, so I decided on purple. I tried the shade, Mood, a matte deep purple. I would describe it as an eggplant shade, though it looks brownish in the photos.

The creamy gel liner is just terrific. It glides on so easily. It’s one and done. No wonder: the first ingredient is dimethicone! But it doesn’t smudge. It dries down, and it stays on all day for me. I usually use Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Pencils because they have so many great colors, but in terms of ease of application, I find UD’s liners to be on the dry side. Haus Laboratories Eye-Dentify Gel Pencil Eyeliner is the winner for me, no contest.

I read the reviews on the HL website, and people rave about them. In fact, lots of the reviewers owned multiple shades. Some people even use them for theatrical makeup. The pigmentation is really excellent.

HL Eye-Dentify Gel Eyeliners come in 20 shades with matte, shimmer and metallic finishes. The pencil is sharpenable. $18 on the Haus Laboratories website

Haus Laboratories Glam Attack Liquid Shimmer Powder

I had a hard time deciding whether to try the Glam Attack Liquid Shimmer Powder or the Glam Attack Liquid Metallic Crème. To be honest, I am not exactly sure what the difference is in the formula between the two creamy liquid shadows. I received Glam Attack Liquid Metallic Creme in Gunmental, an almost charcoal gray cream, in one of my Ipsy Plus bags.

Gunmetal is just a couple of shades too dark and dramatic for me except for evening wear, but the creamy, long-wearing formula is amazing.

I finally decided to try Glam Attack Liquid Shimmer Powder because there were more shades than the Liquid Metallic Creme has. Plus, Glam Attack Liquid Shimmer Powder had a mauve pearl shade, called Rose B*tch, that looked like it would go well with the Mood gel eyeliner that I bought. And it does.

It comes with a doe-foot applicator.

Glam Attack Liquid Shimmer Powder is highly pigmented, crease-proof (though I wear all eye shadows over primer), and long wearing. It doesn’t fade on me at all. It has a liquid to powder formula that can be worn with powder shadows as well.

Over the years, I have tried a million liquid or creamy eyeshadows, and most of them were failures for me because they dried down and became incredibly drying. I cannot adequately get across how comfortable both of the Glam Attack Liquid shadows are. Such a pleasure to wear.

Glam Attack Liquid Shimmer Powder comes in 13 shades. There are several that I’d like to try, but I think my next purchase will be Flash, a silver pearl shade, that I think will look really good with Glam Attack Liquid Metallic Creme, Gunmental. I will wear Flash on my lid and blend Gunmental into the V and crease. The Liquid Shimmer Powder is $20 on the HL website.

Final Thoughts

While I was somewhat disappointed by the Haus Laboratories Lip Gloss because they weren’t opaque and pigmented enough to really wear on their own, I am very happy with the eye makeup I have tried so far. The pigmentation is insane, and they are easy to apply and comfortable to wear. They are high impact products. Oh, and Haus Labs makeup is cruelty-free and vegan.
