In spite of a few glitches, I am really enjoying my upgraded Ipsy Glam Bag Plus subscription with 5 or more full size products for $25. I haven’t posted my January box yet, because one of the makeup items arrived smashed and they are sending me a replacement. Nevertheless, I’ve been very happy with the skincare and makeup products I’ve received. I didn’t think I wanted to get 5 full size products every month because it’s so hard to use them up, but I think I’ve gotten over that. It’s actually fun, and I’ve discovered a lot of great new products!

In my December Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, I received a full size bottle of Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum.

I have about a million and a half facial serums so at first I wasn’t sure I needed another one, but I really love this one. Plus it’s a daytime serum rather than a nighttime serum (I mostly have those), so all the better. Plus it’s another multitasking skincare product, and you know I love those.

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum is a hydrating serum for all skin types, and it’s especially good for my dry skin. The key moisturizers and nutrients in this formula include sodium hyaluronate, sea buckthorn oil, honey, silk amino acids, and vitamin E. Even though it is highly moisturizing, it feels very lightweight.

The multitasking bit is that it’s also a primer. It can be used on its own, under moisturizer and under foundation. All of these applications work. The serum does contain dimethicone, the ingredient that provides the flawless finish for your foundation. My skin loves dimethicone and it does not clog my pores, but I know not everyone’s skin reacts like mine so I thought I should mention it upfront.

I really, really like this serum, so I decided to see what others think. On Ulta, it was rated 4.7 out of 5 with the vast majority of reviews being raves. I was surprised at how many women reported that they bought a full size bottle after trying a sample or how they repurchased it after finishing up their first bottle. The only negatives were from just a few women with oily skin who found it too rich for them in spite of the packaging saying it’s for all skin types, and a few women who must have discovered that the product contains dimethicone after they purchased it. Most love how nourishing the serum is and how smooth it makes their skin, and I agree.

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum comes in a convenient plastic pump bottle that pumps out just the right amount for my full face. The pale yellow gel-cream is non-greasy and fast-absorbing. It has a very light pleasant melon scent that disappears on contact for me.

Since I paid $25 for my entire Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, I couldn’t be more thrilled to get this $45+ facial serum/primer as part of my bag!

    1. I’m really lucky, Kathryne, that my skin has always been cooperative, and I have had few problems over the years. The only things I can’t use are skincare products that are drying or anything with peppermint 😉

  4. I’m so glad you reviewed this. It was in my Ipsy bag and I didn’t know if it would be too fragranced for me. I’m glad to read it’s not. I have too many serums opened but as soon as I’m ready to move on I’ll be trying this.

    1. For me, the light melon scent is pleasant, and I made a point of paying attention to whether it lingered. On me, the fragrance disappeared about 30 seconds after application. I know what you mean about having too many serums empty! I am almost finished with the Dr. Perricone eye serum that did nothing for me, so I will try the Good Molecules Eye Serum next.
