Yesterday was a busy but fun gardening-oriented day for me. My friend Sue and I visited three plant nurseries and picked up some items for our gardens and indoor plants. We also got to visit the chicks and young chickens that were for sale at a couple of the nurseries. Then in the evening, we went to the presentation at the North Shore Horticultural Society that we both belong to. The program this month was an Ikebana demonstration by a Japanese master. She created 6 arrangements that were absolutely stunning. Here are a few photos that I want to share with you!
We all had a good time. And as you can see, Tomoko Tanaka had fun too as she created the lovely arrangements.
The unusual arrangement above was made with anthurium and bleached palmetto fronds from Japan.
The pink Gerbera daisies in the arrangement above with eucalyptus and dracaena was so springy.

I am in love with that anthurium. How beautiful! Sounds like a fascinating presentation. 😀
I wish you could have been there, Rachel. I realize that Tomoko Tanaka has been doing Ikebana arrangements for decades, nevertheless, it was amazing to see how quickly she worked. And the vases she used were wonderful on their own!
