Intuition Soaps: “Under the Sea” for Summer

You probably already know that I’m a big fan of bar soaps, especially artisan-made, natural bar soaps. Since my old favorite, Daphne from Nature Island Botanicals, appears to have retired, I was on the hunt for a new soap at the Waterfront Festival in Gloucester this past August. I discovered Intuition Soaps, a new brand for me to try!

Intuition Bar Soap

Not surprisingly, I chose a soap with an ocean theme, Under the Sea. In addition to being a blue like the ocean, it has a beachy look at the top. I just noticed that the photos that I took to show you were “flatlays”, showing the item lying down flatly, so you couldn’t see the top!

So, I just ran over and photographed it standing up (even though I’ve been using it for a while) so you could get the idea of the beach theme. And here’s a photo from Intuition Soaps that shows the soap very well:

Above the ocean area of the soap is a white area. At first I thought that was the sand, but now I think it’s the foam on top of the waves. 😀 Sitting on the top is a fish (missing its tail that was supposed to be standing up, but I used the little broken piece anyway), and two or three teal and coral shells. Other bars cut from the loaf had turtles on top as well. There are small gold dissolving balls too that I think might be bubbles?

It’s a cute concept, and it smells nice too: lightly fruity due to tangerine and strawberry essential oils.

The soap lathers beautifully, and I use the lather as shaving cream.

Under the Sea excels at hydrating, since it’s made with a variety of natural oils: avocado, coconut, olive, and castor oil as well as mango butter.

For $10, it is a large, thick bar. It’s going to last me for months! Right now as we head in to winter, I noticed that Under the Sea, part of their summer collection, is out of stock on the Intuition Soaps website. But they have plenty of other bar soap options such as Pink Grapefruit, Watermelon, Summer Garden, Succulents etc. listed on the website that appears to still be under development. However, they list their phone number, so I think it’s possible to check out the soaps online and order by email at intuitionsoaps02@gmail.com, or at 781-858-5230 to reach Maria by phone or text to order.

Intuition Soaps Natural Bug Bite Skincare Set

Although I bought the bar soap, Maria and her husband were kind enough to give me a set of small skincare products to address the very itchy and distracting bug bites that I managed to get throughout the summer. With all the rain, mosquitos and other biting insects were rampant. The kit consisted of:

  • Nontoxic bug repellent salve
  • Charcoal-based bar soap, and
  • Charcoal infused salve that are both supposed to calm the itch.

Since I received the products at the end of August, I didn’t get many more bites so I didn’t get to use it. I’m hoping I can still use the Intuition Soaps natural bite prevention and treatment set next spring and summer!

Intuition Soaps also makes handmade candles, non-themed bar soaps, bar soaps to treat acne, body care products, and essential oils. Hope they come back to the Waterfront Festival next summer!
