Ipsy Plus “Celebrate You” for March 2020 Plus A Couple of Mini Extras

Ipsy is just about to send out my April box, so I better get on the stick.

The March “Celebrate You” box came a couple of weeks ago, and I have been using a few of the products since it arrived. The makeup bag is cute. It’s an envelope style bag that’s perfect for carrying my phone, a comb and mirror. Inside, it says “Unstoppable”, and these days, I hope that’s true.

Here’s what came in my box:

  • Hempz Sweet Pineapple and Honey Melon Herbal Body Moisturizer: I have wanted to try Hempz but never got around to it, so I was happy to see this. I would not call this full size: maybe full size travel size at TSA friendly 2.25 fl. oz. The full size pump bottle contains 17 fl. oz. and is priced at $23. I’m not sure whether this was considered a little extra something this month from Ipsy since we’re supposed to get full sized products? Nevertheless, I love the scent. It’s a medium weight greaseless moisturizer that sinks in immediately. If you have normal dry skin, I think you’d love it. For me with my super dry skin, it’s not quite moisturizing enough after a few hours. At any rate, I was glad to get to try it. It will go in my beach bag if we have a summer this year. $6.49
  • Maelle Skin Therapy Facial Oil: I think I have tried something from this brand in the past, but I can’t remember what it was. The Vitamin E, Camellia oil and Coenzyme Q10 enriched oil comes in a heavy glass opaque bottle with a push button dosing dropper. The oil itself is the perfect weight: lightweight. It sinks in immediately when I press a couple of drops into my skin. My only nit is the strong floral scent. It’s not a bad scent, but it is stronger than I would wish. Sadly, the scent keeps me from reaching for it more often. $29
  • Yensa Super 8 Lip Oil: Lip oil still appears to be having a moment. I guess more than a moment. This lip oil is thinner than I am used to, and as a result, I don’t like it nearly as much as my Clarins Lip Oil. The pink shade, Pink Shine, is pretty though. $28
  • Hey Honey Trick and Treat Concealer: I have received a few products from Hey Honey in my Ipsy bags over the years, and I have liked them all. The Active Propolis Cream Concealer is very nice. The shade Light/Medium, though a tad yellow for me, is pretty much a good match. It’s easy to apply with a finger or brush. It doesn’t cover quite as well as my super covering cream from Judith August, but it’s especially good for the under eye area. Good find! It also comes in shade Deep. $36
  • Complex Culture Precision Concealer Brush: I was skeptical when I saw the triangular shape of this cruelty free, vegan concealer brush, but it works. It’s good for dabbing on the concealer, and the triangular shape gets underneath my eyelashes under my eyes with no problem. The vegan bristles are soft and thick. Nice addition to my stash. $26
  • TheBalm AutoBalm GRL PWDR Cheeks on the Go Palette: Ipsy lets you select one of your box products each month if you want to. I chose this cute little palette. I like the metal case, though it’s a PITA to open, and the big mirror inside the flip top. The 4 shades are very pretty and wearable: 2 blushes (peach and rose), a contour/bronzer, and a highlight, though all four could be worn as blush. Perfect size for travel. $26.50

So that’s my Celebrate You box for March. Though it isn’t one of my favorites, it is still decent and as always, a great value. I paid $25 plus MA tax, and the box is worth $151.99. Usually we get 5 full size cosmetics, and we did this month too, but we got the extra travel size Hempz moisturizer.

I decided to order one of Ipsy’s Add-On products, and for $3, I chose the travel size Dewy Skin Moisturizer from Tatcha. The regular price of this travel size moisturizer is $20. The full size jar is $68.

It is a beautiful lavender color cream that I just love looking at.

It’s a rich cream that is especially good for nighttime use, IMO, though it sinks into the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy feel. I think it has a light scent that disappears on my skin immediately. I love this moisturizer!

It seems like many beauty companies are not sending out as many products for review these days, so I am happy that I am still subscribing to Ipsy Plus. I am enjoying getting the box in the mail even more now, even if every single product isn’t perfect for me. Though I know that few people are being spendthrifts these days, if you’re in the mood for a treat every month during these bleak days and want to subscribe to Ipsy or Ipsy Plus, please consider using my referral code. Thanks and stay home if you can!
