My Ipsy Plus box for April came about a week ago or so, and I am just getting around to writing about it. Let’s see what I got this month.

  • Benefit High Brow Eyebrow Highlighter: I can’t believe I’ve never tried this brow product! So I was glad to get it in my box. It’s a creamy pale pink matte crayon to highlight under the brow or both above and below the brow. The shade is perfect for my skin tone. It adds just the right amount of subtle light under my brows. Plus it encourages me to do my brows. I’ve ended up loving this crayon! $22

  • Goldfaden MD. Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Concentrate: I seem to be getting zillions of new eye creams lately. Although I have heard of Goldfaden MD, I have never tried anything from the brand. It’s a high-end clean skincare brand. Although I don’t have terrible dark circles, I’ll try this lightweight white cream from a handy pump container under my eyes and see what happens. It’s also supposed to minimize the appearance of fine lines. I’ll give it a shot. $55
  • Paris Hilton ProDNA Dual-Action Cleansing Gel: I’ve never been much of a fan of Paris Hilton, and I’m not really interested in celebrity anything. So I didn’t have high expectations for the Paris Hilton Cleansing Gel. The translucent gel with a faint floral scent that you don’t smell on your skin goes on as a gel and with the addition of water, it turns creamy and foamy. It’s actually a very nice cleanser. It is gentle on my dry skin and doesn’t dry it out. It has age-defying ingredients, and it appears to be pH balanced to maintain skin’s moisture balance. I also like the black plastic tube that it comes in too. It contains 4 oz., and it looks like it will last a long time. $29
  • IT Cosmetics Heavenly Skin Skin-Smoothing Complexion Brush #704: I switch around the implements that I use to apply foundation. Lately I have been using two inexpensive Artis style brushes. Sometimes I use beauty sponges. But slant top kabuki brushes are always favorites. So I was happy to get this super soft, super densely packed  IT foundation brush. Although I don’t love white bristles because I go crazy trying to get every iota of foundation out of the bristles, it’s such a nice brush. $48

  • Laura Sanchez Moods Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette: Ipsy Plus gives us a shadow palette every month. And they really do vary in terms of the shades that we get. This month, the Laura Sanchez Moods Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette is an all in one palette with both eye and cheek shades. I wasn’t familiar with Laura Sanchez. Turns out she’s a makeup artist from Colombia who was NYX FACE’s Beauty Vlogger of the Year for 2016. The palette is a mix of mattes and metallics, brights and neutrals. At first, I thought this palette was out of my comfort zone, and truth be told, I know I won’t be using the yellow shadow no matter what. But I love the pinks for blush, and the green is wonderful. I love purples, and I will even use the aqua for summer as either a shadow or an eyeliner. I’m actually happy to have a palette that’s something I probably wouldn’t have bought myself. $35

I continue to be pleased with my Ipsy Plus subscription. It is the best value IMHO. Frankly, I need to make myself stop buying any makeup or skincare (just about) and just use what I get from Ipsy for $25/month. I have been using just about everything that I’ve gotten since I subscribed to the Plus box. I’m a satisfied customer! I also like the fact that Ipsy offers products every month at discounted prices. It’s a good deal.

If you decide to take the plunge, I’d be thrilled if you’d use my referral code.

Would you use any of the items in this month’s box?

Nice Ipsy haul. Some of those brands I am not familiar with though. I always like your Ipsy reviews because I no longer subscribe to any beauty boxes. Hope you had a good Passover.

    1. I’ve been introduced to so many new brands via Ipsy, and I have liked the vast majority of them. I wore the Laura Sanchez (who the heck is she, I thought when I opened the box!), and though many of the shades are out of my regular comfort zone, I wore the green and aqua shadows on my eyelids and the pink on my cheeks yesterday and I had a ball! Thank you, Sandy, I am having a good Passover though sometimes it’s hard to decide what to make for dinner. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter!

I want that eyeshadow palette! It is GORGEOUS!!!!

    1. Gabrielle, I wore the green and aqua shades sort of mixed together yesterday on my lids and the pink on my cheeks, and I love this palette for spring and summer! Although you can buy it for full price on the Laura Sanchez website, it is obvious that some Ipsters must be selling their new palettes at very reduced prices on eBay. Take a look!

Thanks for the tip! You’re a mensch!

        1. You’re too cute xo

        2. Gabrielle, Marcia from BeautyInfoZone.com is giving away most of her April Ipsy Plus box including the Laura Sanchez palette in a post on her blog today. Click on over and enter. Maybe you’ll be lucky!

Thank you! I popped on over post haste!

          2. Excellent! Fingers crossed!

I didn’t know that Paris Hilton has skincare brand too. Good to see there’s a palette in there for the cost of subscription.

    1. Yes, there’s a palette every month. The total value has been between $125-200 since it started last fall.

  4. On Friday 4/26 I’ll be having a giveaway for most of this box. After trying to make heads or tails out of all my cosmetics I know things have to go. I’m keeping the Goldfaden MD since that’s my favorite item in the box.

  5. I love Goldfaden MD and have used a lot of his products– therefore that eye area definitely appeals to me, and so does the IT Cosmetics brush. I, too, and no fan of PH, and therefore her products hold no appeal for me.

  6. I have and love the IT Cosmetics brush. Boxycharm is still my fav sub box, they always have things I use.

The brush looks nice. I’ve been eyeing some new brushes but am unsure what I’ll really go for in the end. Like you I’m a little obsessed with trying to keep white bristles white, though I’m working on it. (Both the cleaning angle AND not worrying when they get stained, lest one think I’ve just stopped cleaning them! LOL) I’d always take an eye cream, but I think this is why I just can’t do sub boxes- even when there’s good stuff in there I’d really only use one or two pieces of it. I like seeing what people get in these boxes and am always pleased when they turn out to be winners but I’m just not the gambling type. 😉 Do let us know what you think of that eye cream. If it’s good I’ll add it to my list of products to seek samples of. I just finished up a small pot of It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye. It was…meh. No harm, but it says “smooth brighten and depuff” and I didn’t see any of that either, though I don’t usually get puffiness so I can’t say if that particular angle was the same failure as the other two. Oh well, on to the next thing. My next eye cream contenders (victims??? lol) are some ultra-pricey SK-II (it’s a teeny tiny pot so can’t last long) and Drunk Elephant C-Tango.

A VERY happy belated birthday to you! (and Passover too!) I feel like I’ve been gone for ages and clearly I have a lot of catching up to do. I’m glad to finally be able to look at a computer screen for more than 35 seconds though. #springmigraineboutfromhell

    1. Oh no, Rachel, I’m so sorry that you’ve been suffering from migraines recently! I’m glad you’re feeling better now. I get migraines from time to time, but not nearly as often as when I was in my 20s. However, I’ve had a scary thing happen 2 weeks ago when I had a migraine and it happened once before about 2 years ago: I get aphasia. After a while, my language comes back but when it’s gone, it is terrifying. I hope you don’t have that! On another topic, I’m glad that you’re as obsessive as I when it comes to white bristles 😉 I’ve been using the Goldfaden MD Eye Cream for the past couple of days under my eyes, and it is quite terrific. I love SK-II products, but they cost a fortune. I haven’t tried Drunk Elephant yet – love the name, C-Tango – I’ll check it out at Sephora. Thank you for the good wishes. I hope you had a good holiday last weekend. And I hope you stay well xoxo
