Ipsy Plus September 2021 Back to Work, School Life Bag

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

When I ordered my Ipsy Plus September 2021 bag, I wasn’t overly excited about it. But when it and the add-ons I chose arrived last week, I liked it a lot more than I expected.

The black, white and yellow houndstooth bag is cute, fall-ish, and fits well with the “back to school etc.” theme.

Here’s what I got:

  • Il Makiage Color Boss Squad Multi-dimensional Eye Color Quad, shade Make Moves: Il Makiage’s packaging is always gorgeous, and this heavy silver metal palette with mirror is a stunner. The cool-toned mauve-family shades are good for me. I think I will try out these shades tonight when I go to my book club meeting. $36

  • Murad Clarifying Oil-free Water Gel: You know I love gel moisturizers, but I love them for the warm/hot weather months. This was an Ipsy-chosen pick, and I wouldn’t have chosen it because it’s really for those with oily/acne-prone skin. It’s a lightweight moisturizer, so as we go into fall/winter in New England, it definitely isn’t for me. Murad is a wonderful skincare brand, so I will give this to someone who can use it. $44
  • Sweet Chef Turmeric Vitamin C Booster Eye Cream: Right now, I am pretty set with eye creams, but I chose this as one of my 5 products because there wasn’t anything else I wanted. This is a nice, rich, natural, hydrating and brightening eye cream that I can use on my under eye area after I use up the CeraVe eye cream that I am using in that area. $18 (P.S. You can buy this brand at Target!)
  • Sur.Medic Super Hyaluronic 100th Amino Acid Cleanser: I have no idea what “100th amino acid” means, but I love me a creamy cleanser with HA. The info on the product says that it is brightening and firming as well as ultra-hydrating. Perfect for me especially for the cooler months. $20
  • Laura Geller Baked Blush ‘N Brighten Marbleized Blush, shade Tropical Hues: Gorgeous autumnal marbleized blush. I plan to wear it tonight along with the Il Makiage eye quad if the shades will go together. $28

The “Back to Work etc” bag is worth $146 and I paid $25 plus tax, I think, so it is worth it even though the $44 Murad moisturizer wasn’t right for me.

I chose 3 add-ons this month as well:

  • Grace & Stella Spray All Day Rose Hydrating Facial Spray: You know that I usually hate spraying myself in the face, but I typically like rose spray toners. I bought this before I bought another Dr. Few CBD Facial Spray when I thought I needed it. Now, I don’t really need it, and the spray is too wet for me. But I think it only cost $3. I will pour it over into my empty Dr. Few Facial Spray bottle with the ultra-fine mist, and it will work out.
  • Araceli Ojos Perfectos Gel Pencil Eyeliner, shade metallic Rose Gold: I think I got another one of these terrific gel pencils in a previous Ipsy bag, and I liked it. So when I saw the full size rose gold gel eyeliner pencil regularly $16 for $3, I pounced. It’s a beautiful shade that glides right on. However, it doesn’t show up along my lashline quite as well as I hoped. I am going to try it over a light shadow like the champagne shade in the Il Makiage quad.
  • Hanalei Peptide Eye Cream: I bought another little tube of this nice eye cream that I keep in my purse makeup bag. This is my third one. It’s fabulous. And $3 for a mini tube is great.

So all in all, I was happy with my September Ipsy purchases. I’ll keep on keepin’ on every other month.
