This month’s ipsy bag arrived this afternoon, Summer Lovin’. The makeup bag is cotton with an attractive, bright ikat print.
So what did I get? Here are the goods:
- Tarte Park Ave Princess Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer, 0.11 oz./3.0 g, deluxe sample: I’m a big fan of Tarte so it’s great to get something from a wonderful brand. But I don’t wear bronzer, so this deluxe size compact will go into the giveaway pile. $10.00 (full size, 0.30 oz. $30)
- Crown Brush Professional Tweezers, 1.0 oz./small size: I misplaced my Tweezerman tweezers so this tweezers came at just the right time. I’ve already used it. $6.99
- Nicka K Eye shadow quad, 0.28 oz., full size: I really like the shades in this shadow palette of neutral satin/shimmer shades: ivory, light rose gold, light bronze, medium chocolate. I wore it to dinner this evening, and the shades were easy to blend and they are nicely pigmented and showed up very well. I’ve been wearing them over primer for 6 hours so far and they haven’t faded or creased at all, they’re still going strong. I like the look, especially from an affordable, travel-friendly palette. I’ll do a separate FOTD post with it. $4.99
- Jor’el Parker “Classico” Eau de Parfum, 0.3 fl. oz./8.8 ml, full size rollerball: A roller ball fragrance. The sweet, floral scent featuring tuberose, cyclamen and mandarin is lovely, but not my type of scent. Most likely going into the giveaway pile. $21.00
- Mongongo Anti-aging Lip Conditioner Vanilla Coconut Cream from Jersey Shore Sun, 0.15 oz., full size: I have a ton of lip balms and I was all set to throw this in the giveaway pile, but I noticed it is Vanilla Coconut Cream and I love that so I can’t give it away. And it’s USDA Organic and cruelty-free. I just used it, and it’s creamy. I like it a lot. $10.00
The total worth of this month’s ipsy bag is $53. Three-four full size products. A few well-known brands. Not bad for 10 bucks. Unfortunately, two of the items are not quite a perfect fit for me, but they were nice products nonetheless.
Also, I cashed in my ipsy points and I got a gorgeous Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Mandarin. I’ll save it for a separate review. 🙂

Wow, your bag is great! My bag just arrived late yesterday afternoon, so I haven’t tried the cosmetic items. I think mine was only so-so, but still worth the $10 for sure. I like the colorful bag for this month.
I got the same perfume and tweezers you did. I really like the perfume. The tweezers are OK for removing a splinter or something. I find them too bulky for me to be precise with, and they cut my hairs instead of gripping them.
I also got City Color HD Powder, which I’m very happy to try, as I like their products a lot. I also got a NudeStix Magentic Eye Color chubby pencil in a very light goldish nude, and pur-lisse skin brightening serum. The last two are never anything I’d buy, and I don’t know why on earth they matched me with them. My profile is fair-skinned, oily skinned, and bright colors. So they send me nude, cream shadow and skin brightener (I practically glow in the dark as it is). Who knows, maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Rachel, you are absolutely right about the tweezers! I thought tweezers are tweezers, but no. I tried it after I wrote the post on my bag, and it was just as you said: not such great precision, cut some of my hairs in two = very annoying! I think I’ll change the post 🙂 I’ve never tried City Color Powder but it sounds nice. I should have gotten the NudeStix because I’ve been dying to try their products and I love neutrals and creams! I’d skip the pur-lisse too. I can’t believe I’m complaining about getting the Tarte bronzer but I’m not a bronzer wearer. I’m glad the perfume suits you. It is lovely, just not my type of scent. On to next month, right?!

Unfortunately, I’m not a bronzer user so even though I love Tarte, I wish I got something else, lol. The Nicka K quad is very nice for an inexpensive palette. Two of the shades are very similar and blend almost as one but they are very pretty anyway.
I really wanted that NickaK palette in mine!

I am still mostly happy with my bag. I know that if I add the Tarte bronzer and the fragrance to my giveaway pile, someone will love them.

I haven’t done Ipsy in a long time, but the bags always look nice! I think you got a great mix of products. I really like that Tarte bronzer!! So that will be great for someone else to be able to use since you don’t use them. Also, that quad looks like great quality colors! I’d say a good month for Ipsy!

Same here, but the tweezers turned out to be a bit disappointing: hard to grab the small hairs, cut the hairs in two! But I’m dying to use the Smashbox lipstick!
I’d say that you got a nice selection for $10.00. While not every product this month was a great fit for you, the value is quite good for what you are getting!

I really like the eye shadow quad! So pretty! I didn’t get the bronzer but am okay with that because I don’t use it either. Actually, we got completely different bags this month. I got the HD powder, the gold eye pencil, Eau Thermale Avène Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser, Octavio Molina Hair La Playa Salt Spray, and a Be a Bombshell lip balm. I’m excited about the make-up products and another blogger told me the cleanser is their HG so I’ll for sure try it out. I’ve told Ipsy many times that I’ll never get excited about lip balms but at least it’s tinted red so that’ fun. I’ve learned that tweezers are not all the same. I have a pair I bought years ago and still use because the grip is good and it stays sharp. Overall, I was happy with everything for the price. 🙂
Sounds like you got a great bag, Natalie! I wish I got the gold eye pencil instead of the fragrance or even the Tarte bronzer, lol. Well each month it’s a surprise! Overall, I still got good stuff even if I put it in the giveaway pile!
My box just came today and the only thing I got the same is the tweezers. I’m disappointed to learn it’s not great. I’m glad I didn’t get fragrance though I got a Teez lipstick that is almost like a fragrance since it is so sweet smelling.

Prior to the quad, I had only tried Nicka K nail lacquer, and I had always thought it was a more expensive brand. I was surprised the quad is a $5 palette. Good quality for $5.

That quad is so beautiful!! I love those types of shades! I also think the design of the bag this time is adorable! What do you do with all of your bags? I’m not an ipsy sub but have tons of little bags that I give way full of samples to friends and family randomly – otherwise I have a drawer full! I also like them for travel but a girl can have too many some times! 🙂

I thought when L’Oreal bought ipsy that they would expand internationally but it hasn’t happened yet. For $10, ipsy really is one of the best deals if not the best.
